That part is important because it turned poor service into an actual problem with your rental record. I’d make it prominent. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a U-Haul location. There was no clearly designated area to return the trailer, so I called to let the employee know I had arrived and to ask where I was supposed to leave it. He came outside, pointed toward an area, and provided no clear verbal instructions. There was such a significant communication barrier that I could not understand what he was trying to tell me or feel confident that I was returning the equipment properly. As a woman returning and disconnecting a trailer by myself, I was also extremely disappointed that he stood there and never once offered to help. What made the experience even worse was that he never checked the trailer back in after I returned it. I later received a call from the regional manager telling me that, according to their system, I had never returned the trailer. Thankfully, I was able to explain what happened, but a customer should never have to deal with being told equipment wasn’t returned because a location failed to properly process the return. The entire experience was unprofessional and incredibly frustrating. If a location is going to represent U-Haul and interact directly with customers, employees need to be able to clearly communicate return instructions, properly check equipment in, and provide basic customer service, regardless of what language they speak. I have used U-Haul before and have never experienced anything like this. I will absolutely never use this particular location again, and I strongly recommend that U-Haul inspect and evaluate this location, including its signage, return procedures, customer communication, equipment check-in process, and overall level of service.

Owner was not present and had to walk a new employee through the rental process over the phone. This made the rental process very slow. No customer support was available to help ensure the equipment was properly hooked up.

ERIC FGas was showing only 52 miles to empty, less than 1/4 full. I was shifted twice to other locations with the offer of a free upgrade in size. I did not require that much but I rented 10' and was upgraded to 20' and then 26'; however each upgrade was further from my location. It added more time and cost to my move.
