Hi, I am writing to share a serious concern regarding a recent U-Haul rental experience. During our rental, we discovered that there was a rifle left inside the van by a previous customer. We only noticed this while we were already on our way to complete a time-sensitive move. This situation made us extremely uncomfortable and put us in a difficult position, as we could not easily return and restart the process. We immediately informed the staff upon returning the vehicle. Unfortunately, the concern did not seem to be taken seriously at the time, and we were told someone would follow up with us. It has now been over two weeks, and we have not received any communication. This is particularly concerning for us as international customers. Being unknowingly in possession of a firearm—especially without any license—posed a significant legal and safety risk. Had anything gone wrong, the consequences could have been severe, and we would have had no clarity on how such a situation would be handled. We would have appreciated timely communication and acknowledgment of the seriousness of this issue. At this point, we request a full refund for the inconvenience and distress caused by this experience. We also strongly urge you to review your vehicle inspection and handoff procedures to ensure this does not happen to other customers. We look forward to your response.

DARREL WThe back of the truck was wet and dirty. When we got to the location to pick up the keys, I had to wait a long time for the attendant to help me. I was all checked in but didn’t have the keys. When I returned just before 6pm (and hour earlier than my reservation ended), there was no drop box for the key and the attendant in the building saw me twice but went to the back room ignoring me. I still have the key because there were no instructions for returning them. I will have to come all the way back tomorrow (while trying to move) in order to return them.
Lauren KWe were provided a van that did not have a gas cap, due to this we went through gas much quicker than intended and therefore did not refill upon our return. We felt that not only is it hazardous to the vehicle but to the drivers as well as the smell of gasoline was extremely strong and was wasted in general
