When we came in to set the reservation, and to even pick up the truck on 11/3/17, we had many questions that Christina was able to answer including how it would be handled if we didn't need the truck for the full 2 day Rental. She explained on both occasions that as long as the truck was returned prior to closing of the following day, the rental charges would be prorated. We picked up the truck shortly after 7am (EST) on 11/3/17 and return it at 4:45pm (EST) on 11/4/17. The young man, Chase, who checked the truck back in was very rude and totally unhelpful. When he provided me with the total, I said that doesn't sound pro-rated and he asked when we picked it and I told him. He "oh, well there's nothing I can do to change that it's after 7am." We entered the office to get our receipt and my husband again reiterated what we were told previously and suggested there should be some training updates having gotten two completely different pieces of information from the same location, and Chase's reply was very brusk, rude and flippant. My husband noted that when we picked up the truck, he received a "Twitter" reply from U-Haul with "Good Luck on Your Move." He thought he would see if he received an additional "tweet" with our displeasure at the experience. In fact, he did and they asked for some information and said a report would be filed, and and someone would be in touch. THAT was Saturday late afternoon. Needless to say, if we ever have to move again it won't be with U-Haul.

You get a poor rating on this rental because I reserved a truck before opening time and someone dropped the ball and didn't assign equipment to it and get it ready. Luckily an employee arrived early to retrieve something from the store and was able to get me the keys for the truck Helen on the support line assigned to me when I called in. I was not happy about almost not getting to the location to meet my hired helpers on time and got a "you aren't appreciative enough" comment from the employee.

SImply renting a 5x8 AV trailer was tortuously slow, taking well over 30 minutes, even though I answered all of the assistant manager's questions the day prior when I made my reservation. My customer service guy was relatively new, and did not know the system. The kid sitting next to him felt it more important to deal with another U-Haul employee on an equipment pick-up for another U-Haul location rather than take care of me, the customer. My customer service rep muttered "Jesus Christ" when he got frustrated with his lack of knowledge of the U-Haul software. I forgot to return the ball mount I rented upon returning the trailer, so I dropped it off today. The assistant manager, a hitch mechanic and my customer service agent were all sitting out by the mechanic's bay smoking and sitting down, but not the mechanic. I used to manage very large U-Haul centers in the mid-eighties (North Division and Dishman) in Spokane, WA. If I was the "Commander" as U-Haul founder LS Sam Shoen called us back then, all of these folks-save for the hitch mechanic-would be fired immediately.

Didn't even get the free month unit for renting a one way dolly. All he could tell me was call customer service.

When the guy put on the trailer I said something about it sitting too low. He said it would be fine. Then after loading the trailer the tounge off the trailer was scraping the ground. I had to drive all the way back to them to get a higher tow hitch because I could only go 20 mph due to the scraping on the road. Then the new hitch that I had to pay extra for was put on. I don't know why I couldn't trade in the other one. I got it from uhaul and that was the first time it was on the van. The chains I guess we're not put on right. The chains scraped the road from Florida to Tennessee. Now they need to be replaced because some links are paper thin. If the trailer would of came off the van the "safety" chains wouldn't of kept it on they would of broke.
