I reserved a 15' truck and a furniture dolly by calling this specific location (rather than a call center) and when I went to pick them up, I was told they didn't have furniture dollies, and I had to pay for a more expensive appliance dolly. I will admit that the appliance dolly made things easier than the furniture dolly would have, but they shouldn't make promises they can't fulfill when taking reservations.

I was surprised to find that the 10' truck did not have a ramp. In the past, 10' trucks that I rented did. Also surprised that you now charge for a lock. In the years that I rented a truck from U-haul, pad locks were always provided.

Only problem was that the trailer leaked from a repaired hole in the roof. When we picked it up, it was clear and dry, but a monsoon in Phoenix let it leak pretty bad. The store in Tucson said they would fix it before it gets rented again and thanked me for letting them know about it. VERY PROFESSIONAL.

I had some odds and ends to move that our moving company didn't handle for a short move across town. I went in at 7:30 a.m. and rented a cargo van for the advertised "$19.95/day". During the course of chit chat, "Moving is a pain," "I'd rather do anything else," the sales person asked how long I thought it would take. "Oh, I don't know, maybe four hours, maybe longer," I responded. "O.k.," he told me. "If you need to extend, just call an hour before and let us know." I looked at the time on the contract: "7:30 a.m." "O.k.," I said, "so that's by 10:30." 10:00 a.m. roles around and we're not done. I decided to call and let them know it would be a couple more hours. The operator, Jennifer, said it would be an additional $19.95 for the two extra hours. Obviously, I was taken off-guard. "But, I rented it for the $19.95/day." "No," she said, "you rented for four hours." We went around and around for a while. At no time did the sales person tell me that during the course of our chit chat that by saying I thought it would take about four hours that I was entering into a verbal agreement to rent the van for four hours for $19.95. Jennifer explained that if I had told them that I was going to keep the van for twenty-four hours, then it would have only been $19.95. This was never made clear by the sales person. We enlisted some last-minute help from friends and busted our behinds to get the van back by 11:30. When I returned the van, I told the manager Gilberto about my conversation with Jennifer and that I wasn't happy that I understood to be renting the van for the day that turned into four hours during the course of an off-hand conversation. He blamed it on U-Haul corporate policy and didn't offer any explanation when I told him the first sales person never explained that I would incur another day's rental costs if I went over the four hours. Needless to say, with all of the moving choices available, I won't use U-Haul again.

Disorganized. I rented a pickup that had a 2" ball. I needed a 1 7/8" ball. They couldn't unlock the pin and couldn't find the key to unlock it. It was very busy the day I came in for my reservation. I waited in line for an hour. They let a woman walk right up and butt into the line at the counter. I heard her say, as she walked in the front door and saw the long line, "I'm not waiting in line". All of us in the line we're not happy. The staff was good. I think your procedures for signing in need to be improved to a faster check-in. It took way to long.

Nothing that I can think of. I have rented trucks at this location 3 times, and each time the vehicle has worked flawlessly. This most recent trip was 9 days and 3,000 miles, and the truck (a cargo van) was great. The only thing I would like to see in the future would be a listing of the agreed-upon fees / total cost on the confirmation notice that was emailed to me after I reserved the truck.

I specifically asked if there was anything I needed to know about the van I rented and was told no. After loading van, key would not turn in ignition apparently you have to hold wheel, double click lock and turn. I called store and couldn't get anyone to answer went to call center and they kept sending me to roadside service who left me on hold. I finally got it started and went to store to find out what was wrong and then was told about how to start. I wasted 20 minutes of my rental trying to get help. This was terrible customer service.

I ordered from the 800# and was sent a reservation confirmation to my email. That email did not contain any info about the reservation location. Can this be updated to include the address and phone number of the local branch?

I would not recommend U-haul to anyone, unfortunately. My experience with this service was awful. I was treated poorly by multiple people, and the only reason I gave the above location an "Above Average" rating was because they were the first U-haul employees that were not rude. Albeit they were indifferent at best.
