The gentlemen that helped were very friendly and helpful. Overall the truck was clean, but I think the cab could have been cleaner. Probably nit-picking but the cup holders were sticky from spilled drinks and the cab had a musty/sweaty smell...but it's a work truck and was not a big deal to me.

Nothing....truck was best ever, clean, big and affordable. Not your average VAN. John was Great when we picked up truck. The gentleman, I say that because he was more my age, who took car of our drop off....I will guess, Roy. Was equally as nice. Will use on a as needed basis, no need to look further. Period. Truck was clean but covered with recent snow and ice. Would have been nice if had been cleaned off prior to my pick up. There was no ice scraper/snow brush provided with the vehicle either. I would think this would be standard equipment in the north east - even if moving blankets and hand carts are not... Still, the truck performed fine and location was close by for pickup/drop off.

My only recommendation would be to notify customers that the emailed copy of the agreement has all of the info that was provided on the paper copy provided at time of rental. With packing everything the agreement was packed. The fuel refill calculation is very helpful and was thankful to find a copy of the agreement with the refill calculation in my email.

They recommended I call U Hauls 800 customer service deck which was a complete waste of time and the rep was rude to boot. I will be using another rental company in the future.

You had some irate customers! I rented from 1pm to 4pm on a Saturday. Was told it was no problem returning at that time although the office "closed" at 2pm. When I went to return the van, the gate was locked, my car was in there and no way to get home! First 2 cars pulled in behind me and their codes did not work to unlock the gate (then left); next a car and truck pulled in behind me - again, codes did not work (and they left). In the meantime desperate calls to office were received by answering machine - 3 times. Finally called the police for help after 2 more cars pulled in behind me - woman from the office answering gave me a code that also did not work. Finally a third car pulled in behind and HIS code worked. Not sure I would recommend this facility for reasonable return procedure - would not have rented knowing I could not get my car back!

I had originally wanted to pick up the van in Sanford but was told I needed to drive an extra 26 mile to pick it up at a different location. The owner called me upset because HIS employee had called out and he was now waiting for us to get there. When my husband and daughter arrived to pick up the van the owner was very rude and said he had been waiting over an hour for them to arrive. Poor customer service in my book. Not my fault your employee called out and as a business owner you had to cover.

This is a self storage as well as a uhaul rental and sell locks for the storage I talked to the owner and he recommended a very strong Lock but only after i loaded the truck did I find out the lock wouldn't span the latches on the back of the truck . Not a big deal all went well but something they should known.

Tried to pick up our truck at 8:30 am, as stated in the contract but employee did not arrive until 11:30am.. so we started our moving day off 3 hours late and mad. once she decided to go to work, she says her computer system is down and she cannot do anything or allow us to take our truck. my husband was extremely angry, as it seemed as though she was just hoping we would go away... well it's moving day and we need a truck. so I sit in my car and call uhaul myself (her job) to check in remotely.. We did not want to have to bring the truck back to this terrible location so we asked to drop off in sanford instead and he says we can drop off by Saturday at Ballenger Auto in Sanford instead. We finally remotely sign for our truck and start our move HOURS later than planned! Drop off was supposed to be by Saturday afternoon at Ballinger Auto in Sanford. We finished unloading Friday night and decided to drop off early - except there was no after hours drop box at Ballenger. This was a very large truck so we decided to leave it at the location and bring the keys back the next day. When we went to bring the keys back, they were still closed - so we call the uhaul 1800 number. The lady on the phone tells me I was supposed to drop off somewhere in Berwick. I NEVER had a contract in Berwick (remember, it was originally for Arundel but the remote checkin guy on the phone switched it to sanford so I wouldn't have to wait 4 hours for the girl in Arundel to show up for work) Annoyed, and not wanting to drive that massive truck any more, she says we can bring it to Taylor Rental in Sanford instead. I get there and Uhaul is trying to charge me an extra day for being late --- FIRST OFF, we tried to bring it back LAST NIGHT but couldn't. SECOND, it's late because Uhaul had us driving all over Maine trying to drop it off. AND THIRD, we had a 4 hour late start picking it up -- we didn't get any money deducted for THAT!! Plus, Uhaul wants to charge us for FOUR miles that we went over our "limit".. we wouldn't have went over our mileage if Uhaul had given us a dropoff location that was ACTIVE. NEVER AGAIN.

The facility is fine and the staff was easy to deal with. The only reason for the "average rating" is that it is rather small and the inventory of moving supplies is limited. I did not need supplies on this end as I was dropping off a truck, but I simply noted that the selection of boxes, etc. was quite small.

I would like to see a slightly more generous amount allowed on mileage - with trips of this length, you sometimes need to take alternate routes and these can sometimes add a few more miles - not a major concern overall, but would be nice to see
