Picked up the auto transport and drove approx 10 miles to Hardin, KY where I had a tow company lined up to load my non running vehicle on the transport. After loading, the tow truck driver noted to me that one of the drivers side tires was flat on the transport. In checking the pressure on the transport, one was completely flat and the other had 10 pounds of air on the drivers side. On the passenger side they were more like 35 and 40 pounds of air. The towing company was extremely helpful and utilized their air compressor on their truck to bring all tires on the transport up to 55 pounds of air. In the short drive to this location (approximately 10 miles) I was amazed I had not blown a tire or lost control of the empty transport. I called UHaul within an hour of loading up my transport to address my dissatisfaction in how this situation had occurred. Yes, the problem was rectified “by the tow truck driver” but this should never have been an issue. The UHaul rep stated they would document the problem and she would forward my call to someone that could take my complaint only to be returned to the original menu for call direction. Frustrated to what department to select, I choose to direct my call to Roadside assistance. I explained my situation and the UHaul rep stated there was nothing she could do as I did not need roadside assistance but would document my dissatisfaction and my the call. As I drove to my destination, I will admit I was paranoid about the possibility of a blowout now that my vehicle is fully loaded onto the transport AND that not one rep suggested that I should stop at a UHaul station on my route to my destination to have the tires checked to ensure they were even safe to drive on. Point is, had the transport been inspected prior to being issued to me, this never would have taken place. I’m naturally angry as I rely on a safe piece of equipment. UHaul missed the bar by a mile on this one. I’ve rented equipment numerous times from UHaul , but I will think twice before I put my self in danger and rent their equipment again.
