Got a call the day before Thanksgiving that the vehicle I was renting was not available. Of course I had a confirmation number DE7ED1658B. So here it is the day before Thanksgiving and I’m told I can only get a larger truck. I was informed that there was a smaller box truck in Burnsville about a hour away and that I would have to go there to get it. I was told that as they had no one to get it and they don’t provide that service. Not happy as I was moving items to a narrow road area of downtown Pittsburgh. No choice but to take the larger truck. The funny thing is the truck I had requested was there for the two previous weeks as I drive by this location daily. I go to get the truck and I’m told they have no furniture dollies. The owner told me the drivers area of the truck was muddy. It was muddy, no walk around inspection conducted. I have rented from several U-HAUL locations around the country and the operators at these locations have always picked up what equipment I needed, trailer tow dolly or truck. Each time I’ve rented the power/operator conducts a walk around of the rental. So what’s the point of renting local if they don’t get the equipment for you.
