I reserved a cargo van for sunday 10/4/2018. At trannyman in Smithtown I arrived on time only to find the van was not available. No email was sent to me no consideration for my time or inconvenience. I was given lame excuses by customer service including one about time changes. Nonsense! Eventually I went to another location and rented a van. I expect much more but didn’t even get an apology!

So many things. 1) You moved the pickup truck from a location that is 1/2 mile from my house to a location that is 7 miles away. This cost me an extra $20 in mileage charges. 2) When I arrived to pick up my rental at the agreed upon time (1:00), the vehicle was not there. 3) I had to drive to another location to rent the pickup truck and did not have use of the vehicle until 2:30, yet the return time (7:00 pm) did not change, therefore I lost 1.5 hours of use of that vehicle. U-haul puts profits before customer satisfaction. I cant imagine a vehicle rental company like Hertz or any other making a customer drive to a more distant location to pick up a rental vehicle. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

your website missed represented the vehicle that I was renting ! I will never again rent a van from U-Haul unless you show me a picture of the Vehicle that I am going to actually rent! You showed me a van that was much bigger than the one that I actually got! That is FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!! U-Haul sucks! However the location was managed very well.

I had an issue with the tie down straps of the auto transport trailer soon after getting on the road. I called the UHaul pickup location and spoke to the gentleman who originally signed me in. Even though it was past the end of his workday, he agreed to stay until I could get to his location. He showed me what I was doing wrong and got me back on the road. He truly went above and beyond!

An enormity of respect to the staff here. I had a 1-way rental and when returning to another station they found two dents which were there at the time of pickup but which I didn't notice. While the receiving center tried to pin the damage on me, a quick call to this office had them certify that the dents were present when I got the car and I was not charged. Thank you for your honesty!

Service was good - but receipt was incorrect. Car was returned on 07/24/2018 - Receipt stated 7/23/18. This would have indicated that a five hour trip was completed in less than 2 hours! However, this had no effect on the overall cost to me.

This POOR review has nothing to do with the location I rented the truck from. This has everything to do with U-Haul as a company. I rented a pickup truck for 12 hours and put 17.5 miles on the vehicle. I was promised a mileage rate of .59 per mile by customer service rep Karen and have had at least three charges against my account that were incorrect. For this one order I received TEN u-hAUL emails, including THREE contracts (NONE OF WHICH WERE CORRECT), FIVE order confirmations, ONE quote, and ONE satisfaction survey. I still have not received a single email that shows the correct charges. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in my life and I will be sixty years old this year. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, YOUR COMPANY IS A DISGRACE.
