How U-Haul Reviews WorkTo Whom It May Concern: I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding my recent experience with U-Haul, specifically at the Whittier and Covina locations, under reservation #85555063. On Thursday, September 17, 2026, I reserved an auto transport at the Whittier facility for pickup on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 6:45 PM. When I arrived at the Whittier facility at approximately 6:30 PM on the 19th, I was informed by the representative that my reserved trailer was not available. The representative’s response was dismissive; he simply shrugged and offered no solution besides sending me to the City of Industry location—which was not feasible given travel time and its imminent closing. Shortly after, I received a call from your corporate office, who informed me that there was a trailer available in Covina, CA, and that location would be open until 9:00 PM. While this was farther than my original pick-up location, I accommodated the change and picked up the trailer on the 19th around 7:45 PM in Covina. Upon pick-up, I made the Covina representative aware of the scheduling error and was assured that I could return the trailer by 9:00 PM the next day (September 20). I returned the trailer before that deadline, as agreed. However, I have since discovered that I was charged an additional day’s rental fee of $77.29. I am disputing this charge, as the delay and additional travel were due entirely to U-Haul’s error—not mine. In addition to the inconvenience and extra time required to pick up and return the trailer at a more distant location, I was assured by the Covina representative that returning the trailer by 9:00 PM would not incur extra charges. As a loyal and frequent U-Haul customer, I am disappointed by the lack of accountability and poor customer service shown by the Whittier representative. In contrast, I appreciate the professionalism and $50 refund offered by the corporate office. However, I respectfully request a full refund of the additional $77.29 charged for the extra day, as this charge was the direct result of U-Haul’s scheduling error. I trust that U-Haul values its customers and will resolve this matter promptly. Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your response. Sincerely,
