I originally booked a truck at the other Dundas location for 5 o'clock the day before. I arrived at that location only to find that the truck they had arranged for me was not available. I was asked, "did they not call you?". I would think that the person I booked the truck with would have called me about any changes. I was told to go to the Governors Rd location to get a different truck. I had to walk there. When I arrived, the system was down for all U Haul places in the Hamilton area. It did not come back online after waiting for about half an hour, so I went home. We used to be able to rent a truck with paperwork. U Haul needs to rethink their reliance on computer systems and put a little faith in the people working for them to do the paperwork. At about 8:30 in the evening, the person from the Governors Rd location called to let me know I could pick one up the next morning by 7 am. I went down at 7:30 am and picked it up. I had lost a lot of time and some people who couldn't help move the next day because of these delays. However, the person at the Governors Rd store was as helpful as he could be. I will go there the next time I rent a truck rather than the other Dundas location.

My only issue with U Haul is the inconsistency between what vehicles are offered online, and what is actually available once bookings are made. I had tried to get a truck at the address I was leaving, and though several locations stated "limited availability" for the truck I needed, when I booked I was called by a representative who unequivocally assured me that anything larger than a cargo van was in fact unavailable within 3 days on either side of my booking within a 100km radius. It is utterly disingenuous to advertise equipment as available when it isn't. Feels like this is a company preying on people who are bound by circumstances to have limited other options. Might be a good business model for you guys, but it's terrible for customers! Both clerks at pick up/drop off location were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient.

I had originally reserved to drop-off at a different location. I received an email confirmation Sunday which showed the change in the pick up location, but the drop off remained the same. I assumed this was the case. When I arrived, I started to complete drop-off with the app and realized I was at the wrong location. I drove to the other location to avoid incurring additional charges and dropped off there. I had brought my bicycle to bike home from drop off, so the location change meant I had to bike farther than planned.
