How U-Haul Reviews WorkI rented a 26-foot U-Haul truck yesterday and had a completely unacceptable experience from the moment I arrived. Since there was no staff on-site to assist, I was forced to use the U-Haul mobile app to dispatch the truck. The app requires downloading, logging in, and uploading multiple photos—including pictures of the truck, my face, and my driver’s license. However, the pickup location had absolutely no Wi-Fi and zero cell service. It is utterly ridiculous to mandate a mobile-only dispatch at a location that is a complete dead zone. Expecting customers to jump through digital hoops without providing a network connection or having a single human being on-site to help made getting the keys an incredibly stressful nightmare. To make matters worse, once I finally managed to get access to the 26-foot truck, it had less than half a tank of gas. Instead of starting my move, my very first stop had to be navigating a massive truck into a gas station. This level of service is highly unprofessional. U-Haul desperately needs to audit its mobile dispatch locations for basic cellular connectivity or ensure staff are present. This turned what should have been a simple pickup into a massive, unnecessary headache.
