I had requested a traditional van sized vehicle, but was told that the one, at the location was down because of a cracked windshield. So I postponed for a week as I was assured it would be fixed soon. Nope. Still not fixed a week later. We are a semi rural area, but car glass repair businesses are nearby, but the designated one was in Seattle. Having been a small business owner for 35+ years I would be upset if my franchise was unable to do business because of HQ's foot dragging. I got a 10' which cost more.GREGORY R.
Nightmare and I am requesting a full refund. Pulled over by police first night for bad tail lights. Waited in a McDonald's parking lot for 3 hours while technician tried to fix it. Uhaul finally told the tech to atleast get one light working so I could drive to hotel illegally, then the next morning we got a replacement trailer at uhaul location. Lights on that trailer wound up having the same problems but on opposite side.. uhaul said they don't have hotels in Susanville CA and told us we could drive illegal 85 miles to where they do have accommodations. We paid and stayed at super 8 in Susanville. The next morning stopped at a franchise uhaul in Susanville and they suggested going to the Reno Nevada store.. Then we drove illegal to the Nevada store.. Once there i asked them to test my vehicle to prove to Uhaul that it WAS NOT my vehicle causing the issues... The uhaul said he will annotate the notes so uhaul will know. Uhaul had no other trailers available so I suggested magnetic lights. The uhaul representative thought this would be a great idea... So we drove the rest of the way home.... my mom has a heart condition and is very ill. My dad died and the whole trip was supposed to be calm and peaceful as she looked for a place in lone pine California to lay my dads aches..... I believe with all that has happened Uhaul should pay the $110.00 that we had to pay super 8 in Susanville CA where we were stuck with Uhauls faulty equipment and in addition an entire refund of the rental should be refunded which was over $300.00.... My reservation was for pickup at Clinton Wa and drop off in Oak Harbor Wa...got a notice 1day before that it wasn't available and reconnected with UHaul, under same reservation number,and rebooked to pick up 15 foot truck in Freeland and drop off in Oak Harbor...when went to pick up the reservation had been CANCELLED...with Angus's help we got a 10 foot truck that had to be returned to Freeland...needed to make 2 trips with lots of extra gas and mileage...could I be compensated for the extra gas and or mileage? I reserved my uhaul a month in advance to be picked up in bellingham Washington. Week of, I find out there is no reservation anywhere near my location and we are forced to either drive 3 hours round trip to go get the truck the night before or 2 hours round trip the morning of our move to pick up a truck at 7:30 am. We had to be out by noon. It is ridiculous that we rented a uhaul so far in advance and we're pretty much told we were out of luck and had no other option than to drive over 150 miles to get a truck. I would have understood had we made the reservation day of BUT I MADE IT A MONTH AGO! I was on the phone with customer service multiple times reiterating my concerns and at one point they moved it to Bellingham but the next day it was changed back to Everett. This whole experience was exhausting and made me sour to the thought of renting from then again.REED W.
A few days into my trip I was called by one of your out of town employees who insisted that I drop off my truck at one of two other locations Grover Beach or Paso Robles, that were very inconvenient as my car was in San Luis Obispo & my contract was for San Luis Obispo.
