Make sure trailer tires are properly inflated before a trailer leaves the yard. Rear 2 tires had zero air pressure. It didn't affect my travels at all, but could have if hauling significant weight. Overall experience was still great.

Arrived at appointment time. Storefront was unlocked. No one was there. After calling a manager phone number the employee showed up 30 minutes after appointment time without a word of explanation or apology.


At this location the person there did not try to help me unhook the trailer. Just said "drop it off down on the grass by the other trailers". I unhitched it and moved it around while he was inside talking to his friends out of the cold. No receipt was offered to me.

When I arrived at the location the clerk appeared to be so stoned that he couldn’t stay awake. After 4 attempts to get him wake up I returned the equipment online via my phone and dropped the key in the after hours box. Very poor experience.

Dealer leased my trailer to another customer - under my reservation and phone number. He did have another trailer available and worked with me to get that one. Right front tire was early flat. Dealer had no compressor to add air. Left turn signal was not working. Dealer had no replacement bulb.

The U-Haul representative did not know how to process your order, provide the keys to the truck, or anything about the truck or process. Very disappointed. The movers we hired through U-Haul did not show up or even call.

I reserved a UHAUL for 8 am in Radford,VA. The phone call we got the night before pick up told us a truck was not available in Radford and we would have to drive an hour to pick up a truck in Galax,VA. We drove to Galax and found out that the pick up location did not open until 10am! This was a huge inconvenience! Then I got charged for extra miles when I dropped the truck off! This was not good customer service.

My initial pick-location was supposed to be in Vinton, VA. This location did not work out because the owner of the business had not set up the truck for 24/7 pickup like they were supposed to. Although Cafe Vapes offered a pleasant pickup experience, I was very disappointed with the overall pickup experience and the multiple hours of extra driving it cost me.

I was scheduled to pick up truck at 10:00 on 10 Jun 2019. We drove 35 miles south to Galax VA and the place was closed. We had difficulty contacting U-Haul and when I did they stated I should have picked it up on 9 Jun 2019. I was not given a code for the pickup and after an hour I finally received authorization. I then proceeded to drive back North 35 miles to load and then had to drive 35 miles back o Galax (total 70 miles wasted time and gas). If U-haul had notified me that I could pick the truck up on 9 Jun, maybe my son, granddaughter and grandson would not have had to take time off from their jobs with loss of pay. I received excellent customer service in Dublin and Sumter SC. I cannot say I received good customer service when I picked up the truck. Also, the vehicle had a bad order when we picked it up.

First let me say that I rented a truck in January and everything went smooth. but this time I got a message the day before pickup that the truck I reserved was not available at my selected site and I would have to go 1.5 hours to pick up a 20 foot truck. I spent the next 3 hours on the phone trying to arrange an alternative. this includes 20 minutes of hold time on the phone, then 30 minutes with a rep that had to "ask an associate for help but the associate was on another call. I had to request a 15 foot truck at my location. when I called the location, they said they had a 15 foot truck but the uhaul associate on the phone said it wasn't there. I had to convince her it was available. Then they got the pickup time wrong and I had to make 2 more calls to get that right. When I went to pick up the truck, I signed in to the u haul app and got a message that my credentials had not been approved. I called 1800 go uhaul and was on hold for 12 minutes when the app finally said I was approved. 3 hours on the phone is unacceptable and if there was an alternative I would have went elsewhere for a rental.

Trailer was covered in stuck on mud. I took it to a diy carwash prior to using it, because I didn't want mud clumps falling off and damaging the vehicle I was trailering.
