The truck ran well and we had no problems mechanically but it was very dirty and bug covered and the inside was sticky and the steering wheel filthy. We had to clean it ourselves in order to feel safe. In these times of Coronavirus it might behoove U Haul to institute better cleaning policies.
Vehicle was dirty and required quite a bit of cleaning. Windows, mirrors, cab. Check in/out was a little more time consuming than it should have been.
The trailer rental was fine, getting to this point was a pain. I originally reserved a large moving truck. 2 or 3 days before I was to pick it up I was told there was not one available and none were available in the area

I rented two trucks this week one large and one medium to move furniture from one of my rental homes to another. For those who drive trucks all the time I am sure they work well. I would add a simple back up camera system, B&W would do so we can have a better idea of where we are. I was alone most of the time and I had to keep getting out of truck to see how far I was from buildings trees, fences etc. This might be something that your insurance company would even help pay for to reduce their costs and claims.
Friendly folks I rented from. The truck needed to be swept out, i hauled my motorcycle down to home, snd sweated it out, even though it wasnt my mess. It's all good thank you

Every employee needs to be on the same page---just awful info. ended up paying more than was told plus needed only a 10 foot pickup truck for a small piece of equipment. Spent way too much on gas for a huge moving van when I made it very clear I did not need that!!!
Jim did not guide me through the loading of the car nor the connection of the front tire restraints or the safety chains. He thought the safety chains were not important since the car was held on the transport by the tire nets and emergency brake. In my opinion, I think he was close to being negligent. I stopped at Crescent City, CA and went to the U-Haul dealer at Affordable Tow and Auto Care. Alicia guided me through all the setup requirements, using the front tire straps and guided me in hooking up the safety chains. She needs a special commendation for helping me to get on the road correctly.
