I tried to return my truck in the morning 10/26, but the app wouldn't work: It would not upload pictures. I left the truck and came back at 8:50 as the location listed opening at 9am; no one showed and numerous people were waiting in the lot. Approximately 9:30am I was able to get the online check in to work and I completed that way without ever seeing anyone at the site by the time I left, about 9:45.
Mark D.No fault of local dealership as trailer just came off of McDonald Pass in Snow Storm with Ice, Snow and Gravel so trailer was very dirty but it was great I got call from Billings MT that identified the trailer for me as I was in a pinch and need to get headed to Utah.
Mark M.We made a U-Haul reservation for a 20 foot truck with a auto transport trailer over a month before our pickup date. I got a call two days before pickup that my location did not have a truck available and the closest one was over two hours away. We were given an extra day to pick it up but we're ultimately responsible for the gas cost to get it from a town two hours out of our way. In the same phone call, we were told our local location did have the auto transport trailer available for pickup on our original date. We get the 20 foot truck from the new location and i was quoted $1,800apx for both items however when i went to pay it was asking me to pay over $3,000. This was a self-serve pickup so there was no one to talk to. My local U-Haul office was closed and i sat on hold for over an hour with the regional office. I finally gave up and went into my local location when it opened later that day. They looked into why i was charged so much extra and refunded me the $1,200 that i over paid. While there, i asked fo confirm that the auto transport would be available for pickup the next day at noon as we were told on the phone call the day prior. The employee told me he had no auto transport trailers for me and he wasn't sure why they would have told me that. Luckily at this point they were able to find a trailer being returned the next day and it would hopefully be returned in good condition to pick it up the same afternoon. The next afternoon we were able to successfully get our auto transport and be on our way. The entire process from start to finish had problems every step of the way. I do understand that there is no guarantee until two days before, however this should be told to the customers in an obvious way because this threw off our plans tremendously and unfortunately we had no other options for companies so we had to be drug around by U-Haul just to get our move completed. It was equally as frustrating because Uhual Bozeman told me “we haven't been able to get any of the big trucks in months†so it would have been appreciated to know prior to two days before that there was a chance of them not having it. Luckily we were able to accommodate their issues because a lot of people would not have. I do not and will not recommend U-Haul Bozeman in any way. I truly urge UHual to reevaluate their reservation system for high-traffic offices.
