The records indicated there was 3/4 tank of gas. When we got in in there was less than 1/2 tank. We were expected to have it 3/4 full. Told that we were not able to take it off our contract, but to take it up with U-Haul.

The bad: 1. The truck smelled pretty strong of smoke. Maybe Uhaul allows their customers to smoke in their vehicles, but if so, they should have smoking and non-smoking vehicles. 2. $1 per mile is pretty steep. I rented a Haul two years ago and it was $.59 per mile. Why the big jump in cost? The good: The staff at the location was friendly and easy to work with. The truck was well maintained (except for the strong smoke smell) and worked properly.

Actually have someone qualified inspect the equipment prior to renting it. The surge brake was damaged and the equipment was rented to me that way. Only to leave me stranded on the side of the road for six hours. Then the replacement trailer they sent me had bad tires on it. I was assured that they would be changed out before I received it. Only to find out later that was a lie, when again the trailer left me on the side of the road for almost 5 hours. Totaling 11 hours parked on the side of the road waiting for assistance. ( For problems that should have been delt with ahead of time). When some one tells you that they are renting the equipment to move to Alaska, it might be a good practice to ensure the quality of the pieces taken. Glad my family was able to sit idle for 11 hours because of this.
