Before I begin my list of what was really bad about this rental, I want to say that the people at this location were polite and did their best. The issue is 100% on Uhaul! I have rented probably a dozen units from uhaul in the past 3 years and this was by far the worst experience I have had. First, I ordered moving pads and this location did. Not have them. We had to go to another location to get them. The truck was filthy on the inside. There were cigarette ashes stuck in spilled beverage all over the cup holder area and the cab was very dirty. The check engine light light was on the whole time and it ran rough. Obviously not maintained as it should be. Finally, on my reservation I asked to return the unit to a different location closer to my destination but when I picked it up they had me returning it to the same location and told me there could be an extra cost. I was forced to drive 10 miles out of my way when the original confirmation clearly stated I would return it to a different location. I am not sure what is happening with uhaul but I rented 2 units this past weekend, this truck and a 12’ trailer and in both cases the location where I picked up did not have the equipment I ordered and in both cases the return location was screwed up. I have been a loyal customer but based on this experience I am going to investigate other options for my future rental needs. I realize that uhaul has a bit of a monopoly on these types of rentals but I think you are slipping. Sad.

Monique MI did not appreciate having to be sent to a different location 30min one-way from the location I originally requested in order to pick up the equipment. I would not recommend U-haul and if any one tells me they will be renting, I will be telling them that they can and most likely will be sent to other locations 30min or more out of their way in order to pick up the equipment. No one at the location I wanted to pick up the uhaul or the customer service line I spoke to on the phone told me this information about being notified within a couple of days of pick up that the location will be moved.
