Noah helped me and he was a conscientious employee. I've had a better experience here than the Uhaul next to the airport...where I realized after I left the location that the gas tank was nowhere near full. That was a few years ago. During the last 1-2 months, I've rented trucks from 1010 Keolu three times now with no issues. And the location is just down the street for me, so very convenient! Whenever I see something to buy that requires a truck, this is my go-to business.

Trailer was in good enough operating condition with minor bends and bruises. Hawaii is extremely harsh on items especially on the under maintained roads. It was very easy getting in and out with the trailer as well as returning. Very nice folks too.

I give this low rating due to my frustrations when I returned the Econoline Van. When I rented the van, I told the agent that I would just need it for 4 hours, from 5 to 9PM. He told me the cost based on my estimated mileage, and I was on my way. I dropped it off precisely when I said I would, and my mileage was pretty close to my estimate. When I received the receipt via email the next day, I was surprised to see a "After Hours Service Fee" of $20. I thought that was strange since that was not mentioned, and if it had been, I would have dropped the van off during business hours in the morning. The receipt had a phone number which I called several times the next day. Each time, I was asked to call back later, there was not a voice mail box with that number. The next day, I call the agent that I originally rented the van from. I left a voice message on his cell phone. The following day, I stopped by the UHaul location. I expressed my annoyance at not being able to reach the office, and the message that wasn't returned. The clerk at the desk said the number on the receipt wasn't good for problem resolution and gave me another number. I called that other number, and demanded a credit for the unexpected charge received. A credit was issued shortly thereafter. My complaint is that this location is not set up to respond to customer problems. I wouldn't object to the $20 charge if it was legitimate, but getting this issue resolved was trouble I preferred not to have.



The per mile charge is very high, would be nice if the fee was lowered in half.

It would be good to have a walk around with the agent verifying the existing dents when picking up the truck, when I returned it, the young man at the desk was very polite, and I even witnessed him giving money out of his own pocket to help a crazy homeless women! I will be glad to-do business with U haul at this location in the future!

When I arrived to pick up the cargo van I had reserved it wasn’t returned by the customer at 4pm the day before. So it wasn’t available for me to rent. The clerk did his best to deal with the situation. Thumbs up to him. Great guy. He set me up with the only available vehicle, a big moving truck and lowered the price to match the price of the van. To me the moving truck was inconvenient and a downgrade as I was only to transport one lawnmower and a weed whacker. I asked for the “your reservation is guaranteed or $50” and the clerk emailed the regional manager as it is his/her job to deal with it. When I returned the vehicle the clerk asked if I had received a call from the manager which I had not. He said he would sent a second email to the manager. I’m still waiting to hear back from the manager. How do I get the $50? Not much of a guarantee if I can’t get it. I think i qualify with the downgrade I received despite my reservation.



Online/App registration/reservation information doesn't transfer well to location kiosk. Takes a lot of time to check in

First, I was given a truck with a broken lock, which was fine because I was only going to have it for the next few hours. Then I was asked to sign the contract without the representative reviewing terms with me. He did not state I that I HAD to return the truck and dolly to the same location. No instructions were given at all. I’ve used Uhaul before, on the mainland, so I assumed rules were the same and any location would suffice. When I was finished with the equipment, I dropped it off at a location in town a little before 3pm (as I set up online). I wasn't sure how to return after hours so I tried calling but there was no answer. So I went online and followed the online instructions for after hours return. Not once did it told me I was returning to the incorrect location and I was doing anything wrong. I assumed all was good because everything was confirmed online. Before I left, I took a picture of the miles and gas gauges just in case. Then the next day 09/15/19 at 9:16am I get a voicemail from Sheila (not sure if that was her name). In the voicemail she stated I had not returned the equipment and they were getting concerned. I returned her call as soon as I got the message (at 9:24am and again at 9:25am). She then proceeded to tell me I was supposed to return the equipment back to Kailua and so on. I told her if I would have known that I would have done it, no questions asked. She began to get irritated and said “I’d hate for you to have a record in Hawaii already” I asked what she meant buy that because it was very off putting. She continued to be aggressive and rude. She then hung up the phone on me. She is NOT a nice, respectable or professional person whatsoever. After she hung up on me, I decided not to call back, not complain or write a negative review. I brushed it off assuming she is having a bad day and the issue probably put extra stress on her (which does not give her any means of an excuse to treat me OR ANY PAYING CUSTOMER like that; I don't know any companies who would allow that). I wasn’t going to make a fuss until I got my bill on 9/16, Monday morning. They quoted less than $70.00 and with no courtesy call, they charged my card $187.51. When I called the Kailua phone number they said they were unable to help me and asked me to call the main office at 808-836-0970. I called and the lady who picked up listened to my issues and after I told her the situation she said we had to charge you for two extra days and 16 more miles than I drove because you dropped off at the wrong location. Absolutely NOT, that is ridiculous. When I would not accept this explanation she asked me to call Gilbert and without a friendly goodbye or any consideration she ended the call. I called him right away and he answered, thank you Gilbert. He let me know he was on the road and cannot help me till later today and asked me to text him my name and contract number. It is about 4pm on 9/16 so I am waiting for his call. Over all this e

The girl at the desk had no idea how to set up my contract. I got no help hooking up the trailer that I was renting. When I returned, again no help with uncoupling the trailer or pushing it into its stall. Except for convenience of location, this was shitty customer service. The worst of any U haul location ever.
