The Englemans Texaco location was awesome and we really appreciated their assistance. However, the Englemans Texaco location in Lexington was not our original pickup spot and we were very lucky that they were able to assist us last minute after our terrible experience with U-Haul a day before. In general, working with U-Haul in was a nightmare and we were extremely unpleased with the fact that U-Haul switched our reservation to a different location WITHOUT NOTICE, and then proceeded to cancel our reservation again without notice. If I had not called to check in, my boyfriend and I would be in big trouble as we had huge move planned the next day. When I asked U-Haul customer service to explain why my reservation was switched and then cancelled, they did not have an answer for me and could explain the inconvenience. The representative at the original pick up location in Troutville explained to us that this happens far to often to customers which is a shame. Thankfully, the specific representative we worked with gave us extra miles to compensate for the inconvenience. Future buyers please be warned and make sure you check up on your reservation before this happens to you!

I was treated very well by this location. Everything was in order and the staff was excellent and helpful. My only complaint is that I would have appreciated more than 24 hours notice that I would have to travel 50 miles to pick up the truck.

I made my reservation to pick up a truck in Staunton, Va. Lexington, Va. is 40-minute drive away, and it was deeply inconvenient to get there. Knowing that somehow, in the fine print, I can be made to drive up to 50 miles to pick up a vehicle will make me very, very unlikely to use Uhaul in the future. It feels like a huge bait and switch! Also, the guy put the gas at 1/2. It was really more like 3/8.

Our family had the worst moving experience we’ve ever had with U-haul. We didn’t get our truck until almost 10 hours after we registered to pick it up (we registered for our truck over a month in advance). After numerous calls to various locations we were told had a truck for us (but didn’t), we were finally given a truck. However, our truck was not only not ready, but we had to drive an hour and a half to finally pick up a truck for our move, and then to a DIFFERENT location to get the dolly we registered for to transport a secondary vehicle. Through all this, we spoke with Jeffery Messenger (a president with the company) and were told we would be given a discount for the move. However, by the time we paid for everything, we weren’t even compensated enough to cover the cost of gas for picking up our truck and getting back to our home. When we dropped off our truck after the move, we were told they did not have room for the dolly. We then had to drop the dolly off at a DIFFERENT location. We ended up not getting to our final destination until a day late, lost money on gas, lost help we would have had for our move due to our delay, and were manipulated to believe we would receive compensations we DID NOT receive. Customer service was terrible and we WILL NOT ever use or recommend the use of U-haul again.

Truck I reserved wasn’t available. I prepaid online but was charged another 66.00 when I picked up the truck. They gave me a bigger truck than what I reserved.

THE ONLY reason I would rate the location below average is: The shop is crazy dirty. So dirty I was afraid to walk in. Also, very little space to park my vehicle. However, these guys were SUPER NICE AND HELPFUL! REALLY LIKED ALL OF THEM. If they could just get someone in to organize and then scrub in and out and vaccum the parking lot. GREAT GUYS though!

Lied about gas level in the vehicle. I returned it with a half tank, put $20 Worth of gas in at their pump. When I said I’d pay for the gas, he said he would add it to my charge. He never went out to inspect the fuel level with me,

Advertise more. Customer service needs to be better informed at the 800 phone number. Original pick up facility in Cumming GA has been closed for couple years but customer service and Google did not know that.

My biggest praise is given the staff here, as they rescued our relocation to Texas. We had to swap our trailer for a truck and auto dolly. The staff were solicitous (even offering to come pick us up from the hotel) and helped us with creative solutions. They also explained details in a courteous, clear manner. Hats off to Lexington!!

It was great once we realized our rental was not to be picked up at Clark’s Muffler as I was originally told. The email I received the day before the pickup said Clark’s Muffler, but the text said it was at Emgelmans. We wasted about an hour figuring out where our truck was since Clark’s was closed. I was on hold with customer service for about 15 minutes before I even got a person.
