I Had trouble trying to call the location. When I got there the rep. said that the u-haul phone line was down. That was understandable after she said that. However I was a little annoyed about that. Not their fault though.
I filled up the tank past where it was required and they still charged me a fuel charge. They didn't even tell me they were going to charge me so I left thinking everything was fine. The only way I noticed it was by looking at my credit card activity online. I am NOT happy with that. One good thing was that the return took less than 5 minutes so I was in and out.
We waited 1 hour on the phone with customer service to get the lock box code (despite having done the online check-in prior). After 1 hour on the phone, we became aware that the location had not set up the particular truck we had rented for 24/7 pickup and were given a different truck. At the time to return the truck, we had additional charges for furniture pads that we did not receive upon rental, so we had to dispute the overall final charge. Luckily, we still met our goal of moving, but it's a miracle considering all the hurdles we had to jump to rent and return this truck. 10/10 would not recommend.
When I picked up the trailer, the back door was opened and there was debris all inside the trailer, dirt and leaves. After signing my agreement letter and given my copy of it I was told where the trailer was parked and I had to life and install the trailer onto my truck hitch myself. The driver side lights on the trailer didn't work. Not the kind of service I have ever experienced from a Uhaul center.
Have the equipment available that fits the customers need. I had to get a trailer that was bigger and more costly than I needed. There were trailers near, but could not be dropped off locally. Don't like having to pay for more for a lack of available requirement. Uhauls fault not the local agent..
Figure out a way to allow customers to complete their transactions picking up the trailers and trucks completely online. It would be simple to do

I reserved a utility dolly and an appliance dolly. The girl told me they didn't have an appliance dolly. I asked why I was allowed to reserve one (at least 2-3 weeks earlier) if they don't have them. Her reply â€œI don't know...I'm sorry.â€ She told me to look inside the truck and if there weren't any dollys to come back in and tell her and she'd find me some. In the end, her mgr looked in another truck and found an appliance one! I had called the day before to confirm my reservation and was told the trucks get sanitized between rentals. The truck cab had food particles and a q-tip in it so I reiterated I'd been told they are sanitized to which I was told by the man â€œWe try.â€ I said there's a difference between doing and trying and he explained they're out of Lysol spray. WTH?? They didn't walk me out to go over the truck- she told me to find it per the number on the key and take pictures if I saw anything wrong. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I will never rent there again!
I never received the tool I rented and I got charged for it and when I left and got to a gas station before I left town I noticed the oil life was real low I checked the oil and it wasn't even showing on the dip stick at all I had to add 2 quarts I tried to call Location and they would not answer the phone I called two days in a row and i still didn't get ahold of anyone.
Place didn't have dolly we requested. Didn't tell us till we got there. Told us it would come off our card when we turned it in
If you had employees that knew there job in your call center it would have been great but your people tried to tell me to return the trailer to New Braunfels which was never told to me ever my contract said Lockhart they told me I could not drop it off there because they were not able to accept it for could not grt in the gate there is no gate your people need to know there JOB!!!!!! There is much more but I am tired of typing.
Employee(only one) not on site for pick up, (had to wait 30 minutes past scheduled time), then not on site when bringing it back(another 20 minute wait). Also busy with another customer & said to leave the key & he would process it as received but didn't do that for 2 days. Had uhaul call me about it because it â€œwasn't returned as scheduledâ€. Uhaul had to actually reach out to actual owner of the business there to get it done. I will not be returning to this location for another rental, i would rather drive further and have it go as scheduled than deal with this place
Explain before a person reserves equipment if it is availed on location. I reserved the truck two,days ahead of time and even the person working there showed it to me and explained even when they would be closed it would be ready that Saturday. I checked the next day Friday at the same location the day before I picked it up and again the said they had the reservation and it would be a Available even when the place was closed. It wasn't and it took more then a hour to find another's. I will never use this type of service fro up haul again. Get you act together. I will tell others the same story. Don't use the app! It sucks!

Someone should be on the premises for returns, I am sure someone is there to take the money. Got an answering machine when I called, sign on door saying, "out on a call". If my trailer had been any larger, I would not have been able to get it off my truck. Just not use to that kind of treatment, I have rented many trailers from Uhaul.

I reserved a 10' truck on Monday July 22 (#93845121) one way from San Marcos Texas to Houston Texas for about $140+. Friday July 26 U-Haul called me that 10' is not available !!!! Why I don.t know I had confirmation. U-Haul offered a 26' truck instead of 10'; I said can not drive 26', finally U-Haul found a 15' truck in Lockhart Texas, with the same price and discount for extra millage from Lockhart to San Marcos, 11:00 AM. I entered the U-Haul office in Lockhart about 10:30. The U-Haul reception said they do not have 15' available; when I said I have reservation from a week ago, she said reservation with U-Haul does not guaranty that we have truck available, we are not U-Haul, we are family business here and we are U-Haul contractor. If you need a truck we have a 10' truck available. I said OK I want it. She said there are 2 10' trucks on the yard, one of them has battery problem and is in front of the other one; the maintenance has to fix it move it then the other good one will be available for you. I said lets do that. After about one hour she said it is ready, actually it was 15' truck not 10'. she said I have to pay $207, I asked why, my reservation was $140, she said we do not care for your reservation, this is our price here, if you don't want it we give it to someone else, I called several times to U-Haul, finally she changed all she said before and said I added $58 insurance to that, that's why it is $207. After about hour and half arguing finally I got the truck, I was late for the move the furniture. I used U-Haul week before that, from Austin Texas to Houston one way. it was excellent service; but this time the Lockhart office working on their own way. I do not reserve any truck from that location.
