I was not informed ahead of time that I could not leave my car in the parking lot due to an abundance if you all vehicles one site. I had to drive my car down the block to a strip mall and walk back. I was told I couldn't keep my car there. But when I returned there were several new cars in the parking lot. The 17 footer that I requested was not available. I was given a 20-footer, but that's not what I requested. Disappointing
My husband was pretty upset that the trailer we rented was from1983. The suspension was bad, however, we had no issues with it.
Here are details of my experience: 1. Reserved a truck using the mobile app. 2. When on site, spent about 20 minutes going through the check-in process in the app. At some point the app instructed to locate the key inside the truck but provided no instructions at all on how to locate it. Ended up going to the office. 3. At the office was told that keys are typically kept either inside the office or on a lockbox that is right outside the office but never in trucks... Got the key. 4. Got back to the truck to complete the check-in process. Was prompted to validate mileage - the app had 8,205.9 miles for the reserved truck but the actual reading from the truck odometer was 5,205 miles. Attempted to correct the number and got an error message stating that the mileage can not be updated and no instructions what to do next!!!! Went back to the office. 5. An associate named Patrick Thambirajah took the time to update my reservation to give me another truck and ended up giving me a 20 ft truck (instead of the 10 ft one that I had originally reserved). I had to explain that cannot use such a big truck in the place I'm going to. He started re-booking yet another truck. The process took about 30 minutes... 6. Once I got a new truck and attempted to start the engine but could not do it at first because the steering wheel was locked no matter what I tried (break pedal/key/turning the wheel a bit). Patrick came and was able to start the engine. I rode the truck on site only to find out that its AC was working intermittently... 7. Came back to the office and got blamed by Patrick for entering an incorrect mileage (for the first truck) and for not being able to handle the second truck... 8. Requested another associate (forgot his name) to give me another truck which he provided very quickly and w/o spending any time on changing the reservation. This third truck had no issues I was able to move my stuff and return the truck w/o any additional issues. The entire reservation process on site took slightly more than an hour... Given that experience, I'm definitely not going to use that location and any of the services from U-Haul at all.
Unfortunately I arrived to drop off the trailer right at closing time but the attendant quickly helped me with the return.
The check in/out process was very confusing
Very busy with only one employee checking trailers in and out. Waited for over 30 min to get the trailer. Also had to touch the creditcard pad to answer questions that I had already answered online that was supposed to be touch free.
the pick-up process was a little lengthy. We had to wait 45-minutes to pick-up the van.
Have heavy paper for floors ...to prevent damage and scratching Otherwise the shop is well stocked and you made the pick up and drop off simple
There was only one employee who was doing all he could to handle all the customers. He did a great job under the circumstances but that is Piss poor management And unfair to him and customers. He deserves a raise and management needs to hire more people and/or schedule employees better.
Malvern is by leaps and bounds the best place to rent a U-Haul. The Team is exceptional !!!
no parking available
They told us it was a brand new truck however their was a scrape on the bumper and I didn't want them to think we did that so if someone would have come out and looked at the truck with us it would have been helpful. Also, who ever rented it prior to us left a broken plant stand in the back which we had to take care of getting rid of.
Tried to use the website to login and pickup and drop-off vehicle but it wouldn't recognize that I had location services turned on and kept prompting me for location services. Frustrating since it forced me to have to directly interact with an employee when the entire point was supposed to be contact less by signing up for the truck share. Employees were very helpful, just not what I wanted during this time.
Few spots for after hours returns. Unclear where we could leave the truck.
Staff was not friendly nor helpful.
Just include a hand truck. To rent one is ridiculous as I'm getting a moving truck.
Ordered 1 dozen moving blankets with my rental and Malvern UHAUL claimed they were all out of blankets. How does a UHAUL rental center not have hundreds of moving blankets for customers? As a result, multiple pieces of my furniture were scratched and damaged. Did Uhaul offer any discount or way to make up for the blankets? NO
Don't forget to check the windshield wipers before you leave! The wipers on the truck I rented we're getting a little old and the driver side rubber was falling off and it was a rainy day.
They were a little busy with other customers but the dude yelled over to me letting me know that I could dump and run. Later I received my receipt via email closing out my rental. How quick and convenient was this!! Leave the key in the truck and ski'daddel.
As a local business I depend on my vendors as a partner who help me succeed. I intentionally declined the "safe-move" insurance on my internet reservation. The attendant asked me if I would like it. I declined again. When I returned the trailer it had been added to the reservation. When questioned I was given the hard line to the effect they have 30 minutes to remove it from the reservation. This adds a significant unnecessary cost for me on a three day rental. Admittedly, I should have asked for a cost breakdown when I picked up the trailer. My honest vendors also offer one before the sale is finalized. We are all business owners here working through difficult times and we should be able to count on each other to act honestly and fairly. Thank you.
