It was stated that the location closed at 1:00 and I got there at 12:50 and it was already closed. Annoying so I went ahead and checked in on my phone. I paid $10 for the dolly which would have been more helpful had the ramp been in the truck. So having to help my husband lift and unload a freezer as well as a wine cabinet was dangerous. I’ve always used U-Haul when moving anything but this experience was by far unsettling.

Uhaul moved my reservation to a different site an hour away. Showed up there only to have them say they didn't have the truck. Had to get a smaller truck with a trailer at two different locations. Made for an extremely stressful moving experience. If you make a reservation, there is no excuse for renting the equipment to a different customer, especially when I wasn't late for the reservation pick up.

I arrived in the snow to pick up my rental truck at 8:30 a.m. I had scheduled it for 8:00 a.m. and had trouble locating it. I had moving help movers scheduled to arrive at my home at 9:00 a.m. NO ONE was at the Uhaul place and I wandered around and found a man in an adjoining business who said the Uhaul staff person had not been there yet that morning. This man at the adjoining business drove into Marshall to talk to the owner of the Uhaul business. While he was gone another Uhaul customer arrived who had an 8:00 a.m. Uhaul reservation. I soon got a phone call from Uhaul franchise owner telling me that the truck in front of the store with the back door rolled up and snow inside was the truck for me and that the keys were under the mat!!!!! I, a 61-year-old woman, then attempted to close the back door. It was stuck. I could not get it down. My fellow customer tried and after a good bit of effort got the door to close. We surmised it was frozen open since snow was inside. I got in the truck, turned it on AND THERE WAS BETWEEN AN EIGHTH AND A QUARTER TANK OF GAS!!!!!!! I was incredulous and angry. My fellow Uhaul customer AND the man in the adjoining business witnessed this. I drove this truck home and felt that there was possibly a problem with the transmission as it did not seem to shift up properly. Nevertheless, I had movers who I had paid for minutes from my home and no one to discuss this with at the Uhaul lot so I drove home. After loading the truck the movers could not get the door to shut again. A closer investigation and 45 minutes effort revealed the track and rollers of the door all rusted. Now I had a full truck and movers I had paid for two hours for and a door that would not close. Eventually it closed with three people involved -- one pulling door, and two trying to push it correctly onto track. When we arrived at my new home with brand new carpet I realized when I moved a couple of pieces of furniture that my new carpet was stained a black color where the legs touched it presumably from dirt in the truck! I fully expect a complete refund which I will discuss with Uhaul next week once I have finished unpacking. DREADFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE. I have used the Westfax Drive, Chantilly Uhaul Center multiple times in the past several years and have been fully satisfied each and every time. The Marshall franchise should probably be revoked. I would absolutely NEVER use them again and advise no one to use them.

the location was hard to find. The manager was great. The trailer however was in poor condition. It was left after hours and the manager said it was not in good enough condition she was not comfortable with the safety of it. The e brake would not release.
