Our original reservation was for the location in Bellingham, WA, where we were moving from. We received a call the day before our move that no 20 foot rental trucks were available, and this was after we had already reserved movers at both ends of the move. If we wanted a 20 foot truck we would have to drive to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands or to Canada. After further checking, U-Haul was able to find a 10 foot truck in Marysville, WA. We had to drive from Bellingham to Marysville to pick up the truck, and then make multiple trips from Bellingham to Seattle to move our belongings because of the smaller truck size. After picking up the rental truck in Marysville I had to pick up my packing supplies from the original location in Bellingham because that section of the original contract could not be transferred. But the worst part was when I arrived at the Bellingham location on the day of the move to pick up the supplies there were two 20 foot trucks sitting in the lot. When I questioned the employees about my reservation and having to drive to Marysville to pick up a smaller truck, they were very rude and said the two trucks sitting in the lot had been reserved for months. Although my reservation had been placed a week prior, the system did indicate a 20 foot truck as available equipment. As a result of having to rent the smaller truck in Marysville and having to make multiple trips between Bellingham and Seattle, we had to drive 214 extra miles at a cost of $1.00 per mile for an additional $214.00 because our original reservation at the Bellingham location wasn’t honored. This is the poorest customer service. I expected so much better from a company the size of U-Haul. We were basically left scrambling at the last minute to make things work because the move was scheduled and had to happen. I-Haul has proven they are unreliable! This review is not specific to the Marysville location as they tried to accommodate for the poor handling of our reservation from the Bellingham location and the online scheduling center.
Shelly MThe problem with our rental was not the location it was uhaul policy. You expect the customer to drive to the equipment rather than stage trucks for the customer. Uhaul changed our pick up location after we made our reservation. We had to drive more than an hour to pick up our truck. We had movers scheduled and uhau's recommendation was that we make the movers come at a different time. So we were inconvenienced and the movers had to adjust there people. The only ones not making adjustments was Uhaul. From now on we will use another service!

Paul KThe truck itself is in a miserable condition. It drives like all four tires are square and the engine block is loose, I have rented quite a few U-Haul trucks hands-down I would not want to have to take this one outside the county line little alone any place across the country. The truck needs to be pulled off the road.
