PHYLLIS MAt this time, I would not recommend this location to a friend. I have utilized this site in the past and previously had a positive experience, so my recent visit was particularly disappointing. It appears that there have been changes to the check-in process, and it is unclear whether these challenges stem from this specific location or from U-Haul’s broader procedures. I had selected an inside check-in with the expectation of in-person assistance; however, the associate on-site was unable to support me, and I ultimately had to contact U-Haul customer service for help. This created unnecessary delays and added frustration to what should have been a straightforward process. Once I finally accessed the truck, the cab was unclean, the cargo area contained a pallet, personal items, including socks and needed to be swept out. Additionally, there was a purse left behind, which appeared to have been tampered with. I turned the purse over to Chervon, the clerk on duty. This situation raises serious concerns about vehicle inspection and turnover procedures. It is critical that each U-Haul truck is thoroughly cleaned, cleared of personal belongings, and properly reviewed by a staff member before being released to the next customer. The checkout process also requires improvement. Much of the difficulty stemmed from the expectation that I would receive customer service assistance, only to end up navigating the process independently. If online check-in and checkout are now the primary or sole options upon arrival, that should be clearly communicated in advance rather than presenting in-person assistance as an available alternative. For now, I will likely continue using a U-Haul corporate location rather than an authorized dealer until these issues are addressed and corrected. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
