Taylor BThe truck i rented was new (only 7k miles on the odometer) and clean, thank you. Although, i do have a comment that i hope U-Haul takes seriously, and i thank u-Haul for the opportunity to comment on. My journey took me from Miami, FL, USA to Vaughan/Ontario, Canada. Since my journey was in fall months, it gets dark outside during this time around 7pm Eastern Standard Time (the time zone i was driving in). In-and-around 9pm to 11:30pm at night, i was driving in Virginia and stopped in southern Pennsylvania (at the Turnpike) for a hotel nights sleep. Travelling in Virginia and Pennsylvania on the I-95 is basically travelling in the forest, extreme black darkness, literally no street lights. To add to the dangerous travel, it down poured rained form much of the final 2 hours and add fog into the circumstance travelling in the mountains. Drivers pulled over, driving with hazard lights on, driving at 25 miles per hour, that bad. Here is my complaint/concern. I am going to assume that the this NEW U-Haul that i was driving was equipped with Halogen lighting for headlights. The lighting was yellowish, not bright at all, guessing i could see about 10 ft ahead and with high beams, not any better. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTING. THE STRESS I HAD TO ENDURE THOSE LAST HOURS, no where to really pull off and get shelter. I basically had to keep up to the transport trucks ahead of me and follow their taillights as well as look at the direction their tail lights would go (left or right) to determine how the highway/road ahead turned. This tells me, as a consumer, that U-Haul doesn't care about the safety of their customers, or the civilians that could have been effected if we were in a accent. Or a severe oversight in the person responsible for overseeing the purchase of new vehicles for the U-Haul fleet. The cost to have LED or HID/Xenon lights added is an extremely minimal cost over the amortization cost of the vehicle to add these. U-Haul, you can do much better! I understand replacing these headlight bulbs over your entire (aging) fleet may be too much of an expensive, but ALL new vehicles should have LED or HID/Xenon bulbs for your customers safety. Would love to hear back from hierarchy on this. thank you.
