Your reservation and pick up process is awful!!! I reserved a truck for 9:30 pick up 6 weeks in advance. The truck wasn't available until 1. I had hired movers and booked hotel rooms that all needed to be changed. If you can't guarantee a pick up time, don't offer half hour time increments. That's misleading. Offer a pick up day and say it's guaranteed by 5 so a person can make plans without having to incur change fees. I will caution everyone I know who's considering truck rental to be wary of your reservation process. I can't imagine that you continue to conduct your business in this manner in this day and age. HORRIBLE!!! I also know that mine was not an isolated event. The same thing happened to a friend who had a truck reserved for today.

Arrived at the drop off location expecting to be able to Self-Return the truck through the mobile app, but the app did not work (no matter how many times I logged in/reloaded, there was never a "Return Truck" link. I called U-Haul customer service and got no response. At this point, I had no idea what to do, so I came back early the next morning. I returned the keys, but still had several unused U-Haul moving boxes to return. After moving the boxes into the store, I was told that that particular location could not accept the boxes and that I would have to go to the larger corporate office to return the boxes on my own. At this point, I didn't have a car that was large enough to fit the boxes in, so I had to drive home, switch vehicles, and return to the store to cram the boxes into my vehicle. I then drove to the corporate office, and after waiting in line for 30 minutes without the line moving (while the line grew until it was out the door of the office), we gave up and just left the boxes in the office without getting our refund. The return process was an ORDEAL and I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the customer service.

I sent an email after I received the final email receipt but I still have not received a response. I have also tried calling customer service many times but am on hold for so long that I have to hang up. Here was my response: We rented a truck on 6/4/18 and I am disputing the amount that was charged to us. On the original bill we were quoted 50 miles which we estimated to be the amount of distance we would be driving. When we returned the truck out actual mileage was 137180 which was only a distance of 48 miles. We asked at the time we dropped the truck off to get a receipt showing the actual miles it was showing so that we would be credited the difference of the 2 miles. The guy that checked us back in said not to worry but he will take the truck around back and will check it in. He said not to worry and we will receive a receipt showing the adjusted credit from our original receipt. He clearly wrote down the wrong amount of mileage when checking the U-Haul back in and am hoping this is a simple mistake. I am requesting a credit for the extra 70 miles that we were charged and that this be refunded back to the credit card on account. I look forward to your cooperation in making sure this matter is resolved immediately. Thank you.

The return point personnel were rather unenthused about my returning the trailer. They unhooked the trailer from my car and said, "see ya, you're good to go." As I drove away I realised I had no receipt or proff that I did indeed return the trailer. It left me with an uneasy feeling.
