This review is based on overall experience with U-Haul. I had a reservation for a 26 foot truck on Fri June 29th for 3 pm until Saturday 3 pm. I received a call on Thursday June 28th at 11:30 am to tell me that they had overbooked by "accident" and that they would not be able to fill my reservation but would look for another truck. 4 hours later they did call and say they had a 15 foot truck but at another location which was now 20 miles further out. I agreed. I then received a call on Friday morning at 10:00 am telling me that I couldn't keep the truck until 3 pm on Saturday as they had another booking for 10:30 am on Saturday. So now I have a truck 1/2 the size and for only part of the time. Upon return the clerk was just going to check me out for the estimated mileage of 125 miles even though the actual mileage was 91 miles thus almost overcharging me $40. Had I not said something I'm sure he just would have closed out the invoice without correcting the mileage. The truck worked fine and was clean. It did have a cracked windshield.

Uhaul has lied or abused me on every platform they operate. Yesterday, I got confirmation via text message for the truck I put in a rental order for last week. The problem was it was in a completely different city than I reserved it for. I called customer service and waited 30 minutes before someone picked up my call. As soon as I told her the problem she hung up. I decided to give her the benefit of a doubt, but wanted to speak directly to a manager, so I called and waited another 30 minutes. Asked for the manager and got transferred fine, but again, as soon as I stated my problem she hung up on me too. I was more than a little frustrated and a bit angry by this point so I called my local uhaul to see what they could do. Because it was another district they couldn’t do anything but did give me their regionals managers number. I called him, as expected he couldn’t do anything with it being out of his district, but at least he was helpful enough to give me the number of the district manager for the area of my pickup. Unfortunately, that manager never picked up his phone and his voicemail was turned off. I sent him a few texts begging to contact me but he never did. So my last ditch effort was to PM the customer service reps on this Facebook page. The agent kind of talked down to me and told me it was only 48 miles away and they gave me a hundred extra miles, so apparently she didn’t understand the big deal. At that point I didn’t map out the location so I took her at her word and let it go. So this brings us to this morning. I hop in the car and prepare to make the trip to the pickup spot and discover not only is it really over 70 miles away but it is also almost an hour and a half extra drive on backwood winding country roads. Frustrated, but I felt I had no choice as it was too late to cancel and find other accommodations. All options to contact uhaul will either outright lie to you or just not deal with you by hanging up. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use uhaul unless you’re a glutton for punishment. They will lie to you, try to cheat you and hang up on you if they don’t like what they hear. I have screenshots of everything.

Equipment (10 foot truck) was clean and reliable. Attendant was courteous. I returned the small truck after several hours of local use and having traveled a total of 80 miles. I refueled the vehicle to a level more than when I started (9.95 gallons). After receiving my statement via email, I see that I was charged for an additional 4 gallons of gasoline at $4/gal. This would put the small truck with a light load of a few hundred pounds at 5.73 miles per gal. Just sayin'.

very disappointed. filled up truck beyond full mark, beyond what was required, and I was still charge $3.39 for something after drop off. no notification as to what the charge was for. I even rent two storage units at this site. nickle and dimming existing customers may get you a few extra dollars in the short run, but not long term business.

I had to move in the rain unfortunately and the truck I rented had really bad wiper blades which made for an aggravated drive (noise and visibility). Also, the truck was not swept out as I was instructed to do so I swept it out before use AND after use.
