The equipment should be thoroughly inspected to ensure everything is in good working order. The chain on the tow package came loose within the first 2 hours of our 900+ mile drive because the hook was out of the link. And since it was our first time using Uhaul's tow package, we didn't even realize how dangerous this was until we found ourselves having to stop because the chain was dragging on the ground in the middle of some serious traffic. This could have been averted if the Uhaul representative would have replaced the chain and hook prior to renting the unit out to us. He.didnt even bother to walk out to the truck when we asked him where it was to show us how to use it . He just pointed in the direction and said it was already hitched.
