The truck had damage (scrapes, dents) all over. Prior to renting the truck the associate didn't even do a walk around with me.... is this protocol? Also the steering and was not very responsive. The truck needed maintenance. A fast food back was stuffed behind the seat. I later found and discarded it after smelling old food remnants in the cabin. The storage area was leaking on a rainy day. A couple pieces of furniture got wet and damaged.

Next time on the reservation make it very clear that reservating a truck at a specific location is not guaranteed. I was surprised to get an email with a new pick up location. Once we picked up the truck they then tell us we had to change the drop off location from Logan Square to the South Loop. I called customer service that manages the Chicago locations and she made everything right. She changed back where we needed to drop off the truck and gave us additional mileage for the inconvenience of the new pick up location. Without her I would never use U-haul services again. She stood behind her promises of making it right.

The ignition switch on the ten foot truck needs repair or replacement. It does not turn easily to start the truck's engine. Otherwise, everything was good.

I very carefully checked the gas after I filled up and it was on a half tank of gas, just where it was when I rented it. When I got my online bill I noted that I was charged for 3 gallons of gas and the picture of the gas gauge was wrong, not at half a tank. I have the receipt for the gas I bought for the truck at this U-Haul ‘s location. I want my $13.50 refunded. Thank you

Terrible, terrible experience with U-Haul online pickup and drop off. Was only able to get 1/2 of my moving done because I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with customer service trying to 1) get my keys and 2) drop off the truck properly. Seriously reconsidering ever using U-Haul again. I expect a call back to discuss this experience. Truly disappointing.

I rented a cargo van and drove it ten miles. They told me that the van was full and I would have to bring it back full, I did not check the gas gage when picking up the vehicle. After diving the vehicle for only ten miles, I filled it up and it took 4.777 gallons of gas which cost me 14.33 dollars. When I spoke to the operator at Chris's Thouhy Auto where I rented the vehicle and purchased the gas. He told me that there was nothing he could do and I should complain to u-haul. Unless this van gets 1.5 miles to the gallon, there is no way that the tank was full.

We rented the truck on line to pick it up at U-Haul at Oakton and Mt. Prospect Rd. in Des Plaines. The system knew from the start we would be dropping it off in Bloomington, MN. We got to Des Plaines and waited 1/2 hour behind other customers before they told us our truck wasn't there, but at Park Ridge, and "they were supposed to have called you." Nobody called. So we drove to Park Ridge and met a well-meaning but totally incapable boy who was not allowed to handle the rental vehicles. We waited 45 minutes more until the owner returned from a late lunch and finally got us on the road, this time telling us we weren't supposed to have the truck till 4:00 PM (it was now 2:30)! And he repeated, "You got a phone call about the location change," which we never did. The way we were dealt with is totally unacceptable. We will not be renting from your firm again.
