We were met upon arrival and we wanted to rent a locker and was taken in the office to discuss our needs and it was done with a nice lady, who took the time with us to explain things. and we unloaded what was need to be dropped off and we returned the next day to drop off the truck, which I did have until Monday. The return went well and we were handled with respect. The only thing I do not like is the fact you don't start off with a full tank of gas, so you return with a full tank, not trying to guess how much money to spend to fill it up to what you left with, as you are taking advantage of the customer putting more in then need be. That is one STRIKE AGAINST YOU.

I have rented U-Haul cargo vans from this location on several occasions and they are consistently reliable and provide good service. The U-Haul billing system seems quite finicky and estimated my mileage expense at twice the stated rate. Thinking back on it, it may have been using a “per mile” rate rather than a “per kilometre” rate, which is the standard unit of measurement for road travel in Canada. The final billing amount was correct though.

Hours of operation weren't suitable. Only open to pick up/return truck 10-4, had to return the truck the next day - no mention of this when I made reservation online specifying the timeframe I needed.

Staff was wonderfully pleasant and helpful as I only needed to rent the furniture dolly to move my piano. Other places only rented the dolly if you rented the truck. LAME. Thanks again UHaul... once more reason I always use your services.

Absolutely terrible customer service, completely rude and miserable to deal with. Made the entire experience a complete night mare to the point I have gone to the extent of making sure everyone I know, will know not to use this company due to this customer service reps lack of ability to deal with a customer properly and respectfully. Worst customer experience I have had ever!

I had reserved the trailer online with my account containing all the information to shorten the time for the transaction when I picked up the trailer. Unfortunately, the attendant was not familiar with the system and insisted on redoing all the information I had previously submitted. It was a busy day for me and the extra time taken was annoying and inconvenient.

You can ensure that when I rent from one location the pick-up is not in another, twenty-five kilometres away. I went to Oceanside and they had no record of my reservation. They were very helpful in sorting out the mess you people caused - smarten up!!

The transmission that automatically shifts down on hills works great with good traction. It could be very dangerous and cause someone to lose control of the truck in slippery conditions... think about it. Eric

More accuracy about the amount of fill in the gas tank at the time of rental would be helpful. Staff were responsive to my mobile phone call about this 4 minutes out, and appreciative of my having photographed the fuel tank reading and the corresponding odometer reading when I was making the call. It would probably be easier on staff and customers if the basic setup was a full tank at the time of rental and a corresponding full tank at the time of return.



Lights stopped working 4 days into trip

First off Oceanside Storage were absolutely fabulous they took care of "ALL" the problems as best as the could please allow me to elaborate. The morning I picked up the trailer, I had wired all the lights to my truck and when checked by the staff, everything was fine and in working order. Throughout the day the lights started doing weird things and by the time 11pm rolled around, I was pulled over by the rcmp for not having working lights on the trailer. I'm very experienced with wiring and knew I had wired things correctly because everything worked before I left Oceanside's location but this time the lights we having a serious issue. Not only did I blow fuses, I had to also buy a volt meter, a 4 prong wire harness, electricians tape, fuses, and light bulbs. Remember this was 11pm and I was alone in the dark no cel service, tired, hungry, and very frustrated. I finally had to trace wires from the very back to the very front of your trailer until I found the rats nest of burned and bare wires. It was just one wire that was shorting out, it was "ALL" 4 of them. I had no choice but to spend almost 7 hours in the dark with limited light re-wiring your trailer so I could continue on with my move. I am sending pictures to Oceanside Storage but they have already seen them on my iPhone so they're well aware of the pictures. On the front half of the trailer ( Have pictures ) there was sharp jagged and protruding pieces of metal sticking out and in the dark I ended up gouging my backside which required a tetanus shot and 3 stitches for which I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do about that at this moment in time. So here it was about 4:30 in the am and I'm covered in blood, incredibly sore and dirty, cold and tired and angry beyond belief. I got back to the trailer and finished the wiring job where everything was fixed and finally working properly. Normally I'm not the type of person who complains about things but this is almost beyond forgiveness and after being a long "LONG" time customer of U-Haul, I'm really not sure if I'm every doing to rent equipment from you in the future. Like I said Oceanside Storage was absolutely professional and extremely caring and considerate so I place no blame on them what's so ever but with " U-Haul " ???? I'm not quite sure yet.
