When we dropped off the truck the person was rude, not friendly. Her customer service skills suck. Called to make a complain, still waiting on phone call from the manager. Customer should be treat with respect and manners.

The straps actually fit on the tires of the truck, unlike what the manager said. I had to run around to find straps based on what the manager said. He has never even checked. When I placed the order, I gave my business credit card for the charges. For whatever reason the card did not work when my fiancé went to pick up the truck. I was on a plane and could not get on the phone, so she used her personal credit card. I called U-Haul costumer service and was told that I have to speak with the local manager. I called three times and every time I was told that he manager (I think his name is Corey) is not available, but he knows he has to call me back. Needless to say, he has not! If I treated my costumers this way, they will likely not going to be my costumers anymore....

I requested a 26 foot truck days in advance. Then to my horror, i was given a truck with 149000 miles, with alingment off and body with graffiti and a body with dents and tares. I drove the damn truck and it drove like shit. i immediately brought it back and they had left for the day. I called early in the morning and i was told the manager would get back to me within the hour. i decided to visit the location since , i was pressed for time. when i gor to the location, i was informed that the managed was on july 4th weekend vacation, but when i spoke to a gentleman early, he had informed that the manager would call me back. Then they started playing games with me, when they constantly pushed me around to the next guy. The black guy told me that the white guy was the manager and when i spoke to the white guy, he said there was no assistant manager, he was also on vacation. This fucken bullshit i faced was totally un called for especially after i gave 3000 dollars to this damn company. i will never do business again with damn uhaul. i will go to budget, Penske and etc. This was a fucken horrible experience, trying to give a piece of junk to drive 3000 mile from Rhode Island to Washington state. You need to fire these assholes. Never again will i do business with this company.

Need more folks for folks returning vehicles.. A sign would be helpful to direct those returning vehicles, instead of going into the building. This is a busy location, you also need more Customer Service folks to eliminate the wait time of customers.

When I rented the truck I was told I could return it to the Chelsea location in Manhattan it was all set when we call Chelsea to say we are on our way they said no room and we had to going to Queens we had to pay again the $16 toll to do that and I almost missed my train back it also happened to my sons roommate he was told Chelsea And it was full

Things started off dicey, It took almost 40 minutes from the time I arrived at the pick-up location to be on my way in the 10-foot truck I'd booked. The long wait was totally understandable considering it was the start-of-business on the Fourth of July weekend – a big moving weekend, no doubt. The problem is that I was still told I had to have the truck back on the lot four hours from the time I showed up, not from the time I left, leaving me about 3.5 hours of actual use. About a mile from the pick-up location, the low tire pressure/check tire pressure warning came on and remained on the rest of the time I had the truck. It was no mystery why: when I arrived at home to load the truck, the left rear tire was visibly low. After loading the truck it was time to head to our new place so we could unload. We had an hour and half left before the truck was due back, which would be ample. But then the key would not turn in the ignition. I tried. Three other people on hand tried. No luck. I called U-Haul and they put transferred me to roadside assistance. I was on hold for about 20 minutes when my wife finally got the key to turn. The truck started right up, so I ended the call without ever speaking to anyone at roadside assistance. The delay burned through almost a quarter of our remaining time, which made unloading the truck needlessly frenzied. I considered leaving the truck running while we emptied it so we wouldn't run into the same problem with the ignition, but that didn't feel very safe. When it was time to return the truck, the key would not turn, again, but this time we were able to get it to work in just about ten minutes. All told, the people at the pick-up location were helpful and professional, but the truck itself was in dire need of maintenance and should not have been cleared for road use without servicing. Considering how busy they were, I'd be surprised if they didn't send the truck back out with someone else in the afternoon. If so, I hope the other folks had better luck with it.

The experience was okay, just.... my van was 1600 miles overdue on its oil change and had a "change oil now" alert on. Might wanna get on that. Scariest ride ever, thought the engine was gonna fall out the uhaul...

Your company is infuriating. I made a reservation 4 weeks ago and when I called to ask about the specifics of the rental, they let me change the Saturday morning pick-up to a Friday night. But the reservation was changed to noon and I was told "someone will call you to schedule a time that works for both of us". Apparently, setting "contact preference: email" means you won't ever call or at least not until YOU GAVE AWAY THE TRUCK TO SOMEONE ELSE! The customer service says that the reservations are guaranteed for 30 minutes. This is mentioned NO WHERE in the email or online. With nothing specifically mentioned, I assume a noon reservation means noon to close. I am charged regardless, why give away the truck? I get a different truck and 12 furniture pads. Since I paid for them, I assume that they are mine. As I return the truck in Pawtucket, the 5 furniture pads that I use are in the truck, but the 7 I didn't use are in Saco. I drive back up to Maine, since the guy in Rhode Island says the pads are $10/each, but the bag says $6/pad... whatever. I drop off the pads in Saco, but they have no idea what to do, so they say I'm fine and they will take care of it. This morning I get a bill, the seven pads are still missing and I will be charged $1.07 in total for them. What?! I call customer service and they say the pads are $7.99/each, they have no idea why I am charged so little, and not to worry about it. Wow. Just... wow. I also love in the final email, the last line is a reminder that I have already agreed to not sue your company, arbitration only.

I have used U-Haul many times. However my last experience was a bit troublesome. No one at the store is to blame. the fault is mostly my own. However, I feel the grace period between drop-off and pick-up is too close. As I went in the store to settle up the next customer took of with my keys still in the ignition. I didn't expect truck to disappear a few minutes after I returned. I left it running so they could inspect gas level. I now have my keys back 24 hrs later, but I was absolutely panicked. Perhaps in the future i need to overestimate return time so I am allowed enough time to remove my personal items. I doubt you will change company policy on my behalf. Sincerely: Anthony Corrente
