Perhaps uhaul is accustomed to extorting customers. But, not this time. I have multiple complaints on file. Many of which are at the same location. I have had enough with being mistreated, embarassed, humiliated and extorted every time i rent equipment from this corporation. It is impossible that the illegal handlings and charges are going unnoticed. On the contrary, it seems as if uhauls business plan is to prey upon unsuspecting customers and only hire people whom are going ro enforce that goal. Each time i return a truck or equipment there is a problem. But heres the insanely laughable part of your conflict resolution process.....THE EMPLOYEE WHOM THE PROBLEM AROSE FROM IS THE SAME PERSON SETTLING THE DISPUTE. As an avid uhaul customer i wanna know why! I want to know why customer dissatisfaction is so easily brushed aside. Ita sickening. You literally punish customers for extended rentals. The policies are fraudulent. Not to mentiom the damage recognition and fund recovery. That brings me to my most recent problem. Let me be more specific since thee is a problem everytime. Which i am credited for i might add. I returned a truck after 12 days. Woth 489 miles.or so. For some reason i want given any weekly rate, i was charged full proce for every mile. But that isnt really the problem, im used to being illegitimately charged by your company. We walk into the store to return the truck and pay my bill. Derek, whom likes to lie and say that he is the manager. Which hes a managers assistant in training. Neither here nor there because what he says seems to go. When the tuck is returned he refused to check me out. Then when i waited ten minutes he came out.to check the vehicles info. The truck was covered in snow, he walks directly up to a snow covered portion specifically brushes the smow away as if he knew something was under it, looks at me and says, "what happened to the bumper?" Needless to say, i did not cause any damage to that vehicle when i i.formed him of that. He refused to hear anything i.had to say amd gave me a bill for $1085. I refused to pay for damage i did not cause. On our way out we called customer.service, while on the phone and amidst walking out a women with a uhaul shirt was standing on the side. We stopped to tell her our problem. I adked if she was a manager she said "no i do not work here", my fiance continues to tell her our problem. She immediately refused to hear anything we are saying and says the damage is new. Too bad. We.then exit the store to find a.ride.home. She comes out and starts to yell at us. We say we aren't paying for the damage. She says that instead of $585 if we dont want her to rwport the damage we can pay $118 and n oone will know. When my fiance and i twll her we will not.honor.the charges she became irate, she charged.up to my girlfriend stsrted yelling and swearing at the both of us, saying "ya know what you guys are always tying to get stuff for fr

The staff was very courteous. There is a lot of gravel and some protruding metal stubs in the parking lot next to the self storage. If one is not careful, they can easily ruin their tires in that area - specially in low light.

To start, this is the 2nd location that I went to. My original pick-up location was in Oakland Ave in Warwick, I received a text the day prior to the move stating that my pick-up location was now in Providence, bc there were no available trailers that would meet my needs (However, I put a card down with a $50 deposit in order to hold a trailer ... why did I do this if they wouldn't have one for me). The received text did not specify a date, it simply told me I would have to change my pick-up location and asked what time I would be available to come pick my trailer up. (Inconvenience #1). The website informed me when I ordered my trailer that I would have 2 days to use the trailer; it DID NOT STATE which 2 days I would have in advance, so when I received the text the morning before my move I assumed that I would pick up the trailer that day as one of the two days I had to use the trailer. (Keep in mind the text did not specify a date). So, the day I received the text, I drove 30 minutes out of the way because my trailer was in the wrong location, EVEN THOUGH I PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT, I arrived at the location and they told me that my reservation wasn't until tomorrow. I showed the U-Haul employee the text that I received that didn't specify a date and he said that I would have to come back tomorrow, even though I saw the size of trailer I ordered in the lot. So, now I'm driving a total of an hour out of the way - waisting precious gas and moving/packing time and I have to come back the next day. The next day it is torrentially down pouring. I arrive at the location in Providence to pick up my trailer. The associate hooks up my trailer and while we are checking the turn signals and brake lights he tells me that the brake lights on the trailer don't always work along with my brakes, but sometimes they do. I asked him what we should do, he stated that it was up to me, I could take it or they could try and find a different location with that trailer. HE WANTED ME TO TAKE THE TRAILER WITHOUT WORKING BRAKE LIGHTS. While at the register, I overheard the associates talking about the situation and they said that the issue was with the trailer because the lights on the back seemed dim, like there was a previous issue. I then drove another 20 minutes to a location where I could find a trailer. I am soaking wet from the rain and I get another trailer hooked up (I had to pull around to the back). Once my trailer was on, I parked in the front and went in to pay. As I was leaving I asked if I could purchase a 6-Pack of blankets, since it was raining so much and I didn't want my personal belongings to get wet. The associate helped me carry the blankets out to my car/trailer and he noticed that the wrong trailer was hooked up to my car. AFTER ALL OF THE INCONVENIENCES I HAD EXPERIENCED I ALMOST LEFT WITH THE WRONG TRAILER. U-Haul needs to clean up its act, if it wants to keep the popular moving reputation that it currently has. There was no clear signage of where to drop off trucks, I ended up parking in a customer spot. When I gave the manager the keys he just left to go outside, I had no idea what the next step was, if I should leave or stay. The younger guy behind the counter was friendly, but the manager was not. Some communication to the customer on procedure would be nice.

I find it hard to believe that I needed 6 gallons of gas for only 15 miles. That didn't seem right. But I was told 2.5 miles per gallon was normal. Seemed fishy. I believe the tank wasn't really full when I took it.

(1) express checkin online was of no value as everything had to be repeated on-site, taking extra time. When questioned staff replied it is their policy. (2) rear sliding door jammed and would not open. Took truck to N. Kingstown RI location. Took 10 mins for staff to open door. Repeated again at end of move.

the van wasn't easy to drive. Every time I went over a bump, the van bounced causing my cargo to bounce. No damage to cargo. Check the springs and shocks needs to be replaced
