After picking up the truck, I drove it straight to my home in Onset, which added about 20 extra miles. After loading the truck, I noticed the outer rear passenger tire was flat, and saw that there had been sidewall damage, which was from a previous driver. Evidently the inner tire was supporting all the weight when the truck was empty, so it went unnoticed when I picked up the truck in Pocasset. There was also a crack in the windshield, although this did not impede the view. This truck should never have been released to a customer for obvious safety reasons. After reporting the flat tire to customer service, at approximately 3:00pm, a service vehicle did not arrive at my location until about 9:30pm to replace the flat tire. After returning the truck in Leominster, I called U-Haul to discuss the issues and hoped for some type of compensation. I was told that someone would call me within 2 or 3 days. I never head back from anyone. I am very disappointed in U-Hauils lack of concern.
JIM CI had an appointment at 9am. None showed until 945am. Tank of truck on 1/4. No windshield fluid. I was now late for my appointments by 30 minutes. No supplied furniture pads...a few were supposed to come with truck. When I tried to return the truck (and again I had an appt. for a day and time) the website said the location to return it would not be open, however I could do self-check out. I was skeptical but went and the site was open. Extreme poor communication between Pocasset, MA locstion and reservation center. Considering I came from Martha's Vineyard and was on a tight ferry schedule, let's just say that U-Haul are experts at renting trucks with high anxiety and aweful customer service.
