It started out decent. The guys who helped us were cool. I have rented trucks from U-Hauls a lot in the past. I didn’t like that the dolly wasn’t already on the truck and the fact that their trucks are parked pretty far from the location. I have arthritis in both my knees so I had to put the dolly in my truck and drive it over. Everything went well while we had the truck so no issues there. When we came to return the truck the guy was helping another customer and he was a little short with him because the man didn’t speak English and didn’t understand him. I thought that was a little rude but I understand the barrier and not being able to communicate. I was told when I dropped the truck that I would get a receipt that night and I didn’t. So I called the next day in the afternoon I don’t recall the reps name I wanna say James but maybe not. Anyway he was extremely rude. Basically told me they are a hardware store that happens to rent out trucks and they will get to checking it in when they can get to it. When I of course did not like that response I was met with the typical response of me being the angry rude customer. But no I understand being short staffed and not being able to get to something but it’s the way you say it and apologize for it. He needs to work on his customer service. And no I will not be coming back to this location and I will not recommend anyone I know to come here either

I made an online reservation and entered my CC info- total was $19.95- then when I was at parkrose hardware the U-Haul attendant added the safe tow coverage that I had already declined. When I asked he said U-Haul does it automatically. This forced two calls to U-Haul to resolve. This seems to be par for the course-3 out of the last 4 rentals from U-Haul have had extra charges snuck in. One in San Diego and two in Portland. That’s bad business and poor customer relations-but who else are you going to rent a trailer from? There are truly nice people that helped us resolve the issues and I guess you can’t manage everyone- especially when it’s not an official U-Haul store where you rent equipment.
Charles BNo guidance on where to park the Uhaul, parked it out front was told had to move it to the back lot before i could return it, no inspection with the guy, took pictures of everything just in case. Seemed more excited with what was happening in the back.
