Dear U-Haul Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent rental experience and to formally contest the charges applied to my account. My experience was highly irregular across multiple locations. At the first location, the staff were not U-Haul employees and the van I requested was unavailable. I had to rent a truck temporarily until I could locate a van at a second location. After finding one, I returned the truck to the second location and rented the van; however, I have been charged approximately $350 for a one-day rental of the truck from the first location. This amount is incorrectly high. Furthermore, the truck I was provided had tire warnings displayed on the dashboard, which presented a serious safety concern. `In addition to these equipment and staffing issues, I found the mandatory use of the mobile application on the second location to be a significant burden. I spent over an hour navigating the app to perform tasks previously handled by clerks, essentially performing unpaid labor while being unable to verify or adjust the incorrect charges at the time. At the second location, the individual present did not speak English and acted more as a guard than a representative, leaving me to manage the entire rental process through the app for an hour. A charge of $350 for a one-day rental under these circumstances is unacceptable. I am requesting a formal review of these charges and a significant refund to reflect the actual vehicle used, the safety risks encountered, and the poor service provided. Please let me know how you intend to resolve this matter. This experience has ensured that I will not be using U-Haul services again in the future, as the current level of service does not reflect the company I have known for the past 20 years.
