Hi, I picked my uhaul up and the transaction was seamless. The GM (his shirt said general manager) was actually impressive how he handled the phone and customers in store. When I started the truck there was no gas. Well it said “15 miles to empty”. So I asked the attendant if you reimbursed for gas if I brought it back with more. He said no so i had to immediately drove to a gas station and left the truck with way more gas than I paid to U-Haul. After I got back the attendant said I drove 200 but “I might have written down a wrong digit” - (he was the one who checked me in the day before). I calculated what I drove and it was 75 miles. The experience wasn’t poor because of the people, it seemed poor because of the systems and procedures you have in place. I won’t return- it’s unfortunate because overall the people were pleasant and took care of the issue.

waited over 40 mins on a very slow time for a van because of lazy employees and general manager. i called prior to make a reservation and the general manager told me he has over 30 vans theres no need for a reservation. They then handed me the keys and told me the truck is outside. when i went out there was no truck. I was then told to walk around the building and look for the truck! not acceptable! You are supposed to go get the truck no the customer. The gas level and milage was also wrong! when i took a picture and submitted it the manager told me that he corrected the milage but disputed the gas level. so i had to go back and get gas in the truck when i only drove it 9 miles!!! i had to pay almsot $10 in gas to get it back to where he clamied it needed to be so i wouldnt get charged an arm and a leg! The vehicle was dirty when i asked them to swtich it out he said "Thats a cargo van for ya " and refused to give me a refund or replace the van. OVerall unacceptable and i will never do business with uhaul again! And these surveys dont matter because nothing will come from this! i would like a refund if anything my number is 804-901-5309

Trying to use the quick check-out was a nightmare. I'll never skip the counter again. Also, the ploys to get me to pay extra are extraordinarily annoying and made me want to see if there were other rental options in the area. Very unpleasant experience. Returning the vehicle was ok.

If you say 24 hours, mean 24 hours. I got double charged and had to spend a hour getting it straight with your workers. I have use Uhaul at less 15 times in the last year but this is the worst ever.

Wait in line is a little longer than what I would've expected, and then when we got the cargo van the person who gave it to us didn't work with rentals so she didn't instruct us on anything before we left with it. So if she doesn't work in rentals why was she assisting us then?

Keep the lane for returning and exiting vehicles clear. I had to wait 20 minutes for a trailer to be unhitched before I could leave the facility because it was blocking the exit path.

Originally I had booked my online reservation at U-haul in 5210 Jefferson Davis Hwy Richmond, VA. When we went to pick up our 26’ truck at the time, they stated that they didn’t have the truck at the location(common problem that i’ve heard from several people that have booked at that location. I had movers ready to go in 30 mins and I was highly ticked off since we drove from 2 1/2 hrs away and the truck we needed wasn’t there and our movers were on their way. The agent helping us out just kind of shrugged it off like it was nothing. She called her regional manager and they had one at the 900 N Lombardy st location. She didn’t offer to have anyone pick up the truck from that location. Low sense of urgency so I had to drive to the Lombardy location myself since we were running out of time. The lady there was very helpful, understanding and went above and beyond and liked her service. To the Jefferson Davis location, get your stuff together

The truck was terribly dirty. I had to have them clean the inside before getting in the truck . I used the truck to pick up brand new kitchen appliances. When I got to my destination and opened up the back of the truck I was horrified to find the back was 10 times dirtier then the cab. I had to clean out the back of the truck before loading my appliances ruined my nice boots and my clothes was fifty when all said and done. If I had the time I would've returned the truck back and gotten another one. I will charge this to a mistake and oversight by your store. Overall had you not have had great people working at this location I would never use your services again. However the folks at this store were professional, excellent courtesy and friendly so I would definitely use your store again and refer others...But this incident should never happen again to myself or anyone else moving forward.

The automated pickup and drop off using a smart phone is a buggy and ridiculessly inefficient process. Took 40 minutes to complete, and still needed the desk assistance. I'll never use that option again based on this experience.
