This was absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

This guy charged me an extra day without consulting me. I returned the truck in 6 1/2 hours, there was no extra day. He just didn't check it in until the following day. FRAUD!


When I placed the order I chose a drop off location that had 24/7 dropoff for convenience, and I was told to call 8004288465 for it. But guess what, that number is useless after business hours. So I couldn't get information. Then I wasn't told that you have to go online and closeout the reservation when doing a dropoff, so I was charged a $20 fee. If I had known that I would have kept the truck the 4 days I was allowed and dropped it off in the morning, instead of dropping it off 3 days early. Despicable experience with everything.


I had a credit for a truck not being available from a previous move. Not only did this location not know what I was talking about but I was charged more than full price and even though I put gas in the tank they marked it less and charged me.


Explain the “after hours” return procedure clearly. If the only way to facilitate a return after hours is electronic, the App to facilitate this should not expire.

Had to wait a long time but in their defense they are an Ammco also and one gentleman trying to do it all. The trailer was in good working order and clean enough. It was perfect for what we needed to do.


The gentleman that was at this location and handled my transaction did not wear a mask and encouraged me to take mine off. NOT COOL when it comes to protecting humankind!


You're not asking the questions about the service we received an order to get to this location. It was horrible horrible horrible.

The location is 5 min. From home, Lake San Marcos. Pleasant staff. The Ammco mechanic, Joe, was taking care of front office while also working on vehicles. Consider reserving a truck online easier for the staff and you are assured to get the vehicle you want. Kudos to Joe! Still the wait was only a few minutes, the same as the wait at the Escondido location on Mission, my usual go to location. I will be back soon when the temperatures come down. Loading and unloading in 98° temps. was challenging. Bring your own Clorox wipes and wear your mask.

We dropped off our trailer two days early and despite talking with the owner of the place himself, he never checked in our equipment. Then two days later he calls and asks where it is. It is a small location and appears to be very disorganized and not living up to the U-Haul standard!

It seemed apparent the truck we rented had not been sanitized. There was a mask from a prior user sitting in the console. The front windshield needed washing. I think this location pays more attention to there primary business and not enough to the u-haul business.

The truck was dirty, both inside and outside. The bed of the truck wasn't swept, the cab was very dirty. The blankets were dirty with wood shavings and leaves in them. The air conditioning in the truck didn't work.


For anyone trying to consider renting a van from this AAMCO location, I urge you to think twice. Read the other horrible reviews and make sure you are willing to go through the same experience if you want to try this place out. This place is not a primary Uhaul business, but a third party vendor and their employees from my experience are not well trained at all. Here is my experience: 1) When entering the AAMCO store, the guy wore NO MASK amidst this Pandemic second wave. So, be prepared to deal with a tatted, MAGA, conspiracy loving, f-in incompetents to take your order. 2) The guy charged me 100 hundred miles ALTHOUGH The odometer read that I drove 50 miles when I turned in the vehicle. So, be prepared to deal with employees who don't know how to do basic math. 3) When I turned in the vehicle, the same guy advised that all was needed was to turn in the key to the vehicle. They took 5 hours to register the vehicle returned and I was charged an extra day. When we returned the vehicle, the guy was smoking, taking a break, and on each of my visits, there were absolutely NO customers. When I called the AAMCO location and asked why my vehicle was not registered as returned online, the manager of the store replied that “they also have AAMCO stuff that they do” *** So, If you still want to go ahead and rent from this place after reading this review, I give you the following advice: 1) Be prepared to ask UHAUL for a refund at the end. 2) Have extremely LOW expectations of this place 3) It's not UHAUL, it's the employees at AAMCO that are completely incompetent, ignorant and lack the basic understanding of how to run a business 4) Take pictures of everything after you turn in the vehicle, including the odometer and gas level. One day rental returned about 6pm and choose to pay the 20 fee to have store check in the truck because my phone was dead. Got my receipt two days later for what I believe was a 3day rental. Why do I have to pay for the extra days they took to Check in the truck? Good thing penske is around the block. I'm not a one time renter. I have a moving company and rent around the country to use as a shuttle to the semi.


He didn't even look at the truck when I returned it.

These guys are tops..


Was charged an extra day even though I returned the rental before 24 hours. Insurance that I didn't request was added to my order without being informed. Called customer service and they assured the extra day would be removed, but that to resolve the issue with the insurance that I didn't request, I'd need to speak to the local manager. I was provided the manager's telephone number and I left him a voicemail. I still haven't heard from the manager regarding the extra charge, and the extra day I was charged still hasn't been refunded.
