I had an extremely frustrating experience with U-Haul and would not recommend their service based on what happened to me. I booked a U-Haul truck in advance and was told that my reservation was confirmed and that I should pick up the truck at the Parliament Street location in downtown Toronto. When I arrived there, I was suddenly told that my pickup location had been changed to Scarborough. I was not properly informed about this change beforehand. I then travelled to the Scarborough location, where the staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. They did not provide clear or consistent information and told me that they did not have a truck available. I called U-Haul’s customer service again, and the representative told me that a truck and a dolly were available and directed me to another location on Finch Avenue. I travelled there, only to be told that they did not have a dolly and that they could only provide me with a truck. At this point, I had already been sent to multiple locations and had spent a significant amount of time travelling back and forth. I was then told to return to the Scarborough location regarding the equipment, but when I tried to get help from the office, there was no responsible person available to properly resolve the situation. The biggest problem was the complete lack of communication and coordination between the different U-Haul locations and customer service. I made a reservation, received confirmation, followed their instructions, and still ended up being sent from location to location without getting the equipment I had requested. This was a very stressful and disappointing experience. U-Haul needs to improve communication between its locations, honour confirmed reservations, and provide customers with accurate information instead of making them travel around Toronto trying to find the truck and equipment they were promised.

Julian PThey used a damaged connector and subsequently failed and I have to waste time for road side assistance. Charged me more than my booking amount. Added insurance without asking me on the charge as well. Hard to speak with them as there is no physical person on the pickup location. I have to drivr 3okm to pickup and they promised me $50 discount for the distance but never seen where they honored that.
