Here's a quick story. I recently rented and returned a U-Haul truck after driving it 17 miles. Due to time constraints, I had to drop the truck off without refueling it. I rationalized this because I had been told that I would have to pay $4.25 per gallon, and since I only drove it 17 miles, I assumed that the truck would require around two gallons. Instead, they put in 5 gallons (~$20) and charged me the $30 refuel fee that was never communicated to me. Yes, I now see that there is a disclaimer printed on the back. But when I asked about the refuel fees to an employee, they only mentioned the $4.25 per gallon. So what can you do to improve for the next customer? I would recommend telling people about that fee, especially since you give customers trucks with 5/16ths of a tank and charge the fee if it's returned below 4/16ths.

This was an absolute DISASTER. Shayla was the worst person to deal with. How she is a GM, I HAVE NO IDEA. My problems are: 1.) she is terribly unresponsive. Promises to call back or follow up and does not. 2.) She did not follow up with my apartment complex like she said she would which led to me finding out the day before move in that they would not allow the Ubox. I ended up getting an exception but needed same day drop off and pick up which did not happen. 3.) The day of the move, I had a 2.5 hour window to have the Uhaul truck (I HAD TO RENT). My boxes were promised to be brought down first thing in the morning, so that I would be able to be at my complex by 12:30. I showed up at 9 AM, and the boxes are nowhere to be found. They LITERALLY cannot find my boxes. At noon they tell me it is at a different facility where I have to drive to. I do not get everything loaded until 1 PM leaving me 90 minutes to drive to Seattle and unload everything. Obviously this did not happen, and caused soooooo many more issues. 4.) In the end, no apologies, no follow, nothing. I spent $200 on Uboxes, $90 on delivery of them, $150 for a permit to park them, and $100 for a truck. I also had to drive 35 miles to where everything was stored. I would have had a $100 move, but elected to "make it easier" with Uboxes and got bones for $440 additional and extra time

The express check-out I signed up for wasn't observed, they were short-staffed. The 15ft truck had a faulty transmission (wouldn't shift out of second gear) so it ran hard and used excessive gasoline. Also a dolly was in the truck that I did not order.

I was overcharged for fuel on contract 80806317 because the fuel level was recorded incorrectly ($12.75 fuel charge for 6 miles of driving). I called U-Haul to request an adjustment and was told the GM would return my call; he has not called. Unacceptable.

Friendly staff, mis marked gas tank claiming it was a half tank - I drive 2 miles to my apt, loaded it, hopped in to move it and noticed it was at a quarter tank.

Location messed up my reservation. As part of correcting the issue I agreed to take a smaller vehicle and they were to take $50 off of the order. The $50 was never refunded and the store did not return any of my calls. I was one of three people in the store with issues with orders.

The inside of the truck was dirty and wet. Luckily all the things we hauled were wrapped plastic, but we had to wipe them down when we arrived at our destination. Service was fine art the shop.

Rainy day so I chose a van for a local craigslist pick up. It ran great - radio reception good. I think having blankets to rent was a plus. Got my new bookcases home in great condition. The van was easy to drive.

The sale associate that help me with my reserved rental was great, he went well out his way. But when I first arrive I ask the manager did he have any trailer available to rent he told me no. Even though when I arrive he was hitching up this gentleman truck and their was at least 8 trail sitting there. Then proceed to tell me that all their trailer we reserved for the day. I asked if he could check any other stores near by and he said no because they were all not open yet. So I called the Uhaul 1800 number and the customer service told yes they had a trail and reserved one for me. I truly hope this manager did not treat me like this because I was African American, but did fill like this. His excuse to the other sale associate that help me was I didn't know you had a reservation, the only problem with that response was that I didn't have one when I walk in the store. I only got one after he told me he had no trailers because they were ALL reserved. This is my neighborhood Uhaul that I been going to for a long time and this hurts to be treated this way. I was renting this trail to move something for a fundraiser I was doing for my churches Children Ministry. No one should have to good through this.
