If you could have ready for each customer the last date the truck or van was serviced, that would show customers that safety comes first. Also, make sure the sales people offer to show how the truck (especially back door & ramp) work. Don't assume we know.

Original vehicle was not returned by previous renters at my check in time, but the gentlemen at the front made sure I had a vehicle, as I was on a time crunch to begin with. That was a huge relief. Then upon leaving with said smaller vehicle, I find that the truck bed was filthy, and I was responsible for cleaning out the previous renter's garbage to use it for my one couch to move across town. That was frustrating to say the least. Come check out time, I was nearing closing time and so I called, since traffic was particularly busy and seemed the lights were trying to conspire against me to get in before closing (by literally minutes, mind you) ... Anywho, I called and explained and asked if someone could be there to do my walkthrough even if I was going to arrive a few minutes after closing due to unlucky me and traffic. The customer service representative assured me over and over that someone would be there, not to worry. Traffic happens. Be safe. All that jazz. So that's great, and a huge relief because I did not want to do the check out process alone at night. So I hang up and arrive, minutes after 7pm, as confirmed, and no one was there! Lights off, doors locked... And not a normal vehicle in site besides mine... Great. So frustrated and stressed, I begin the try to do the check out list alone... And my total was nearly double than the estimate. They were charging me for two nights! So now I'm even more frustrated and stressed, and disputed it and finished checking out and go home. The following morning the emailed receipt was remedied, so that was helpful. But to be told by a uhaul customer service representative that someone would in fact be there for me, and then that was in fact false... Was very disappointing to say the least... It wouldn't have been so frustrating if they said no one would be available after 7pm, since that's closing time. Would have sucked but I would have been prepared to deal with it. But that was not the case... The self check out is a convenient tool, but I really wanted a human representative to assist me, and thought that's what I would be getting. My usual uhaul experiences are pretty great, this one... Not so much...



I was told to return the truck full. She said fill it until it clicks but do not top it off. Then she showed me a chart that tells how much fuel the truck will take at each level for the fuel gauge. I filled the truck as directed but noticed the truck took almost twice what it should have; 16+ gallons for the 96 miles I drove... or 5.6 MPG. When I talked to the manager he told me I filled it wrong and didn't follow instructions. When I said "so I just spent an extra $20 for my truck rental?". He said "No, you gave that money to the gas station". When I asked him who got the extra fuel that I purchased, he told me I could go pump it back out of the truck as long as I didn't hurt or damage his truck. Poor customer service, big attitude, not at all professional for a manager.

We returned the truck & dolly after hours so did not speak with any representatives. It was convenient to leave the keys & contract in the night drop. There was an error in our paperwork that indicated that we had two dollies, but we only received one. We were initially charged a fee for not returning two dollies, but this was quickly resolved when we contacted a U Haul general manager. Their quick response to resolve the problem made this a pleasant rental experience.

When I checked out the truck I was told bring the truck back with the same amount of gas or they would charge me $3.50 a gallon when I returned. Since I only drove 22 miles I decided to return the truck and purchase a gallon of gas. I was told that there was a $30.00 fee for returning the truck below the fuel starting level. At no time was I told about this fee, after speaking with the check in rep he took the fee off the bill. Without his actions a would had shared my dissatisfaction with many potential customers.

Owner of the renting facility was able to accommodate my need to pick up the trailer two hours earlier than reserved, and for a trailer that worked well to haul a medium sized motorcycle. Tires on the trailer looked old and worried me a little but they had plenty of tread, were properly inflated, and held air fine. I completed my trip without any problems.

Not at all pleased with 2 people who closed shop on 8/13. Incredibly rude to the woman in line in front of me. Seemed more interested in closing that serving her. She walked away nearly in tears. They delayed her to the point that when I tried to purchase a mirror box I was told that the computers were closed. The item was 14$ or so. I put 15$ in cash on the counter and left with the box. My experiences with all other aspects and personnel....excellent

Only issue was no windshield wiper fluid which was hard to see with all the bugs until I was able to stop at the gas station

Customer service was great. The only issue was with the van. When trying to back it up, it was difficult to smoothly press on the gas and back up. It wouldn't move until the pedal was half way down, then it lunged. Other than that, everything was beyond great! Thanks!
