The location was fine but I would not recommend U-Haul equiptment to a friend. The van was advertised to fit a queen sized bed which it clearly did not. I did not find the equiptment to be as advertised and I am not sure I would rent from U-Haul again. Additionally the fact that the van needed to be filled with gas before return was not clear and the outrageous cost of 1/8th a tank of gas was unacceptable. Lastly, the location given to me was not the one I requested and no one called, texted or emailed to notify me of this change. Overall, I was not thrilled with my experience.

Cleanliness of vehicle. Have a representative walk you to the truck or have someone bring the truck rather having the customer walk across a dirty lot.

I pulled up and was not given clear directions on where to go. The guy that came out of the convience store told me to unhook the trailer from the truck myself! And even had the nerve to tell me to park it correctly when the trailer was off. HORRIBLE SERVICE! I would Drive out of my way just to drop off somewhere else.

The location where I pick up the truck was fine. The problem that I had was that I had to go to 3 different places to pick up the truck. On the morning of the pickup I keep getting different text messages telling me to go to a different place for pickup. That created major stress since we had people helping us move that we're paying. This caused for move to take longer than I should have.

This place is not much to look at. However... They knew what they were doing, their hours are awesome, the equipment was in great shape, and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes flat. There are three rental locations closer to me, but I'll be renting here next time.

I am very disappointed in the customer service I received from U-Haul!!! Number one, I made a reservation and was supposed to pick up the U-Haul from Prime Furniture in the University Mall at 1:15 pm. I tried calling only to get a notice that the number was disconnected. And I did not receive a text message until AFTER 2 p.m. that my reservation had been changed to the location on 30th Street. So here I was at the mall wondering why the store was closed and the number listed online did not work. My stress levels were elevated through the roof because I was supposed to have everything out of my apartment and have the keys back before the office closed at 5 p.m. . The only thing that made my move easier was how quickly I got my keys when I made it to 30th St. The guy who helped me was very nice but the store itself smells a little bit like cigarettes. But that was the least of my worries. U-Haul promised customers a $50 rebate if their reservation was not available but when I called the customer service line this was not the case. Can you say false advertising?? I've used U-Haul every time that I've moved since I've been here in Tampa and this was the first time I did not receive the customer service that I expected. Very, VERY disappointed!

You should spell out what approximate costs are with mileage and insurance. A $29.99/day rental cost me $56 - almost double! I feel a bit taken in - transparency may be a better long term policy.

System went down in the process of completing my contract. So I was unable to pick up my truck at my appointed time. There was no off-line procedure in place in order to complete my contract so that I could’ve been on my way on time. I had to wait almost an hour for a phone call back saying that the system was up and that I could return to pick up my truck. Very inconvenient. An offline procedure needs to be implemented in case of system failures.

Worst experience ever... no help to install equipment... Left without electrical connection. Thank God for another uhaul location who helped me. The place where I rented the equipment should be closed. Giving u guys a bad name for sure.

It was too far away from my new location. We tried to change it to a location much closer but was told it was not within the city limits. If you can drop off your equipment at Uhaul’s across the country, then why should city limits make a difference? I have no issue with the service/people at the drop-off, just with the unnecessary extra travel to go 30-40 minutes past an authorized local drop off.

Was given a bigger truck than reserved. Rental unit space is very tight and the bigger truck made delivery much more challenging. Bigger truck also takes more gas. Not everyone is please with getting more than they ask for. Especially someone who doesn’t like driving trucks. :(

The email confirmation I received had a location listed that was closed. I showed up today and was informed by the notification on the door stating the location was closed. I called UHaul and the customer service department was helpful and told me the correct location to go to. Regarding charges, I was overcharged for the truck I rented and filed a customer complaint. The customer service department also stated they did not understand why my credit car was billed for the amount. I am currently awaiting an email or phone call regarding the disputed charges as my mileage was below the estimated amount and the gas tank was returned filled beyond the required amount; no damages to the truck, per the confirmation.
