I used your website and chose specifically the U-Haul location that you said was available and reserved the equipment that your website said was available. When I showed up, the reservation had automatically switched to the Vestavia Hills, which was 8 miles in the wrong direction from my eventual destination. At the Vestavia Hills U-Haul, none of the equipment that I rented was available. I was very upset with the service. I do not plan to use U-Haul again.



I had three people calling me harassing me about the time I need to be back, when I specifically told a manager and crew I do not have a certain time frame and the truck was going to be back before end of business day. The manager said if I didn’t be back she would charge me for an extra day, and if she lose a reservation she will charge me that as well. Her attitude sucks, she is unprofessional, and didn’t even allow me to finish my statements when she called me. I have a voice recording with the third crew calling me saying if the truck was not there on 6/29 then I would be charged an extra day. He said on my voice the truck had a reservation on 6/29. I felt as if I was rushing to move , because I wasn’t allowed enough time she wanted to know what time I was going to be back. I even explain to the manager I had something important to come up yesterday. She still had an attitude with me. And also, my reservations was scheduled at another store down the street, she said l, “ Sir I’m doing you a favor, bring your reservation down to my store.” Something needs to be handle about this situation. I did not go back to get my funds from the deposit because I do not want anymore confusion. I’m a manager at my job I manage over 300+ people. She need to have a training on personality and communication because it’s clear she is an unfit manager.

When we picked up the truck it was not the location customer service stated. Also, when we did arrive at the location the lady working was nowhere to be found. She left a walk-in talkie and said push red button. We did 5 times and out of nowhere she showed up 15 minutes later.

I will absolutely never use this location again. While I appreciate being called and told that I would have to go pick up a piece of equipment from another location, that was fine. I understand that mistakes happen; however, I do not take kindly to being spoken down to like a child when I am a paying customer. We were running about 45 minutes late to pick up our truck (partially due to having to pick up the piece of equipment from a different location). I asked what the consequences would be if we were late returning the truck, and the lady behind the counter was extremely rude with her answer if “well I’m not gonna give it to you!”. Her condescending attitude continued until she noticed that I was visibly upset and the other employee intervened. The employee that we directly checked out with was rude from the beginning—including texting on her cell phone when we approached the counter, not even acknowledging our arrival into the store. All that being said, I understand that I can’t expect perfect service everywhere I go. I wouldn’t even be leaving this review had the lady not been so forwardly, blatantly, and dismissively rude and condescending towards me. If I’m paying for a service, I at the very least expect to be spoken to like an adult.

The lady was rude. The parking lot is small. The truck was backed against a retaining wall. When I reached my destination, the back door was open. Only 18' of the 20' was usable due to a hand truck and moving blankets strapped to the wall. When I asked the clerk to remove it, she refused. If I wanted any of those items, I would have requested it. Most of my Uhaul experiences are bad. I will be using someone else from now on.

You had two locations very close together with similar names (Vestivia and Vestivia Hills). Give address and directions to the pick up location in your reminder messages. Answer the phone at the location. I call to verify the addrfess and no one would pick up the phone.

The manager was very rude. She accused me of causing damage to the van and wanted to charge $150 for damage I did not incur. I would suggest you and an agent inspect your rental truck before leaving.
