How to Drop Off a U-Haul Truck After Hours
After hours of fitting boxes into your new house, you peek at your watch to realize how fast the time has passed. A quick Google search of “what time does U-Haul close,” tells you your rental truck drop-off location is closed for the night. What do you do now? We are here to help.
U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 helps customers who need to return rental vehicles outside of business hours, or who prefer to return their rental online during regular business hours without assistance from a U-Haul customer service representative.
The process is simple. You'll need your mobile device to take photos, answer a few questions, and correctly return the key. Here's a detailed look at how it works:
How to Return a U-Haul Truck After Hours:
- Sign into your U-Haul Account on the U-Haul App or uhaul.com.
- Select the “Return My Truck” button.
- Follow the instructions on the next few screens to make sure you truck is parked in the correct area. Be sure not to block entrances or exits.
- Answer the questions on the next few screens about your mileage, truck performance, and cleanliness. Make sure to report any new damage to the vehicle. You will be required to take and upload some photos.
- Review the pending charges, then select complete truck return to finish returning your truck.
- Lastly, lock the truck and look for the key drop box or slot. Drop your keys in the designated drop box or slot and you are all set.
After completing the after-hours drop off process, you will receive an email receipt detailing your final charges.
During the next business day, U-Haul will verify the information you provided. U-Haul will assess additional fees if mileage or fuel readings are misreported and/or damages are found.
With Truck Share 24/7, you can own your move by returning and picking up your rental on your schedule. It’s that simple!
