Does U-Haul Have Full-Service Movers?

Are you wondering whether U-Haul offers full-service movers? Although U-Haul doesn’t have traditional full-service moving options, we offer a variety of moving solutions that, when combined, can give you a hands-off, hybrid move at a fraction of the cost.

How a U-Haul Hybrid Move Works

1. Rent a Moving Truck

U-Haul has the largest fleet and more than 23,000 locations across North America. No matter where you’re headed, you’re sure to find a neighborhood U-Haul nearby.

2. Hire Labor-Only Movers

Find local moving labor near you on the Moving Help® Marketplace. Easily compare rates, reviews, and services offered to find the help you need.

3. Select Your Moving Services

In addition to loading and unloading, some Moving Helpers provide moving services like house cleaning, piano moving, gun safe moving, and more.

4. Purchase Moving Supplies

Helpers don’t provide moving supplies, so be sure to pick some up before moving day. Use our Moving Supplies Calculator to create a list of supplies needed.

5. Move Stress-Free

Your helpers will load your moving truck quickly and efficiently. All you have to do is drive to your destination, where your chosen helpers will unload everything for you.

FAQs: Hybrid Move vs: Full-Service Movers

Q: Does U-Haul have movers?  A: U-Haul does not offer movers. You can find labor-only Moving Helpers in your area on the Moving Help Marketplace to assist with your loading/unloading needs, however.
Q: How much does a hybrid move cost?   A: Your cost will vary based on several factors, such as the price of your Moving Helper crew and truck rental. To give you an idea, two helpers booked for two hours for a loading or unloading service will cost on average about $270, while a moving truck rental starts at $19.95, plus mileage fees (typically between $.50 and $.99 per mile).
Q: Will Moving Helpers drive my truck?  A: No, Moving Helpers can’t drive your moving truck. If driving a moving truck isn’t an option for you, you can rent a U-Box® container and book U-Box delivery with loading or unloading from Moving Help as a full-service move alternative
Q: How can I save money on moving? A: In addition to opting for a hybrid move, we also recommend trying to move on a weekday, avoiding peak moving season (summer), decluttering your home before moving so you have less to haul, and reusing packing supplies where possible.
Q: Do movers pack for you?  A: Whether you choose full-service movers or Moving Helpers from the Marketplace for your moving needs, professionals are available to help you pack or unpack. When selecting your Moving Helpers, simply select that service to ensure you’re booking a crew who can provide that help.
Q: What does full-service moving include?  A: Full-service moving includes nearly everything needed to move your belongings from one place to another with minimal effort on your part. It usually covers disassembling furniture, loading and unloading, transportation, and more. Keep in mind that although convenient, full-service moving companies come at a premium. Expect to pay more.
Q: How much does a full-service move cost? A: Your total cost depends on how far you’re traveling, how much stuff you have, and whether you’re moving any specialty items. Generally, a full-service move can cost anywhere from just over $500 for a one-bedroom local move to more than $10,000 for a three- to four-bedroom long-distance move.
