Buick Encore (2013-2020) hitch installation steps
1. Lower Exhaust
Lower exhaust system at the rubber isolators. Spray a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to assist with removal.
2. Install Hardware
Properly install hardware to the frame using fish wire. Insert fish wire into the frame rail to feed carriage bolts and spacers through the access holes located on the frame.
3. Put hitch into position
Raise the hitch into position by carefully sliding the passenger side of the hitch over the lowered exhaust pipe.
4. Secure the hitch to the frame
Once the hitch is loosely into place, secure by installing the remaining hardware. Install side weld nuts on each side, then remove fish wire on existing hardware. Be sure to attach flange nuts onto hardware once the fish wire is removed.
5. Tighten and torque hitch
Tighten and torque all needed hardware to the manufacturer’s specifications.
6. Re-install Exhaust
Re-install lowered exhaust from Step 1.
You should now have your trailer hitch installed on your Buick Encore.
