Dodge Grand Caravan (2008-2020) hitch installation steps

1. Lower Exhaust

Use the 13mm socket and 5” extension to remove the bolts securing the exhaust and muffler hanger. This will allow the exhaust to drop out of the way for the hitch installation.

2. Remove existing bolts from the frame

Locate and remove the bolts from the frame using the 15mm and 18mm socket. Be sure to leave one bolt on the passenger side of the vehicle frame towards the front. This holds the bumper bracket to the vehicle frame.

3. Put hitch into position

Raise the hitch into position against the bottom of the vehicle frame and align the holes in the hitch frame with the holes in the vehicle frame. Ensure the air condition lines are not pinched between the hitch and frame rail.

4. Secure the hitch to the frame

Now with the hitch raised into position, secure with existing bolts.

5. Tighten and torque hitch

With the bolts loosely into place, use desired socket and 5” extension to tighten and then torque all hardware to the manufacturer's specifications.

6. Reinstall Exhaust

Use previously removed bolts to secure the exhaust and muffler hangers.

You should now have your trailer hitch installed on your Dodge Grand Caravan.
