Never in my entire adult life and countless U-Haul interactions have I come across a worker like general manager Rebecca. From the start she was rude and had attitude. When I went to check in there was not a unit for the size that I reserved. First thing she should have said was she was sorry for any inconvenience since it was U-Hauls mistake and I had already been waiting 1/2 hour to speak with her. Instead she lied to me from the beginning. Telling me corporate doesn’t allow her to make changes to storage prices only trucks. I called U-Haul myself and confirmed that isn’t true. I felt like racism was at play since I am a hijab wearing Muslim; she told me there was nothing she could do for me and that I would have to take what she had available at regular price. However, once my blonde hair blue eyed sister got there all things changed. Her entire attitude changed and all of sudden she was now able to change pricing. I spent almost 2 1/2 hours trying to resolve the issue. I will be giving her boss a call as well and made sure that the issue was documented in detail with customer service rep Kimberly. Kimberly was on the phone with me for a good portion of the situation. She was amazing and apologized profusely.
Holly F | First ImpressionsI would of kept my storage unit but I didn't have it real long and you raised my rent. Rent was too high
JACLYN K | Overall ExperienceThe staff was amazing at helping get me checked in and making the set up quick and easy!
Amber S | First ImpressionsIt's dissappointing that you can make a reservation, go to get access to the unit, and there's no unit available. After an hour of looking and calling customers, I was told they found one but it would be in a week. Fortunately I'd booked the unit a week before I absolutely had to have it. I came back as told on the Friday before I was to get the unit, and again, there was no unit available. After more checking and disbelief that they didn't have an available unit, one was finally found. The manager was nice about it, and surprised it was so messed up. As for the facility, the move in was easy, great to have a covered area to unload and the facility was clean and well lit.

MARCUS I | Overall ExperienceI accidentally set off the alarm and she was great.
Taylor W | Overall ExperienceWe made an online reservation of the smallest size storage unit on Sunday May 11th during business hours to be started on the following Friday May16th. We had a trailer to pick up to bring said storage items on Thursday May 15th. When we picked up the trailer we asked for confirmation that the storage unit was still ready to go for the next day and we're told yes. We had received an email confirmation upon reservation but my husband always likes to double check. When we came into town on Friday to unload the trailer it took over 30 minutes for us to be told that they couldn't find our reservation. Brenda R (I believe that was her name was the only person I interacted with that was helpful)and was able to set us up with a 10 x 10 unit for a month free. I think that is awesome and super helpful. However, now if we need to continue the storage unit after a month we will have to pay more than we intended OR move to a different unit if there is one available. In addition to the storage unit fiasco we had an issue with our trailer reservation. We reserved the trailer at the same time online and when we went in on Thursday to pick it up we were told it was unavailable due to the lights not working. Rebecca G said she would give us a "different one and they would just have to eat the cost". I am yet to understand how this is our problem. When we left we asked if we were to return the trailer to the same location and were told yes. Then a day later were informed that we have to take it to Bettendorf. The person who called gave me new insight as to why it needed to go to Bettendorf just told me that was where it was needed to go and I would lose my 'discounted rate ' if I didnt drop it to them. I even informed that we would be arriving earlier than our drop off time by almost 24 hrs. There was no wiggle room, just a no. It wasn't until my husband dropped it off at the Bettendorf location that he was informed of a reason which we both understood as reasonable. I do apologize for raising my voice with the employees. I did not call them names. I said I didnt understand why we had to do this (repeatedly) and I was never given a reason. If a customer is asking for clarification for understanding, I would hope that an employee would be able to give that clarification. I appreciate the free month of storage but I feel like this will be the beginning of a huge headache for me and my family.
