Taylorville Tornado Recovery: U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage and U-Box

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (Dec. 2, 2018) — U-Haul Company of Illinois is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage at six facilities after a destructive tornado blew through central Illinois on Saturday evening.

Strong winds tore down trees, power lines and buildings. As many as 100 homes in Taylorville have been severely damaged.

“Some of our neighbors came home on Saturday to find their homes in shambles,” said Aaron Freeman, U-Haul Company of Illinois president. “As a caring member of these communities, we want to make sure they have a secure place to store their belongings during the recovery process.”
