U-Haul Extends Free Self-Storage to Southwest Georgia in Wake of Hurricane Michael
ALBANY, Ga. (Oct. 11, 2018) — U-Haul Company of Southern Georgia is now offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to Albany residents who have been affected by the extreme winds and rains associated with Hurricane Michael.
The storm stuck Albany on Wednesday, packing winds of more than 100 mph. Thousands of residents lost power and many storefronts in downtown Albany had windows blown out.
“Many of our neighbors are facing a long road to recovery,” U-Haul area district vice president Doug Weston said. “With such widespread damage, U-Haul is proud to step forward and assist those in need with our free self-storage disaster relief program.”
On Monday, the U-Haul Companies of Atlanta West, Tallahassee, South Alabama and Western North Carolina extended the same disaster relief offer at 28 locations in 12 cities. Find that press release here.
