U-Haul of Downtown Toledo Ready to Open in Willis Day Building
More than 800 self-storage rooms will be available when renovations are completed
TOLEDO, Ohio (Feb. 27, 2019) — U-Haul® will soon present the Toledo community with a renovated self-storage facility at 801 Washington St. thanks to the acquisition of the Willis Day building in the downtown area.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Downtown Toledo is set to open Friday and will offer truck and trailer sharing, moving supplies and 244 indoor self-storage rooms.
Once the 115,010-square-foot building is fully revamped, it will offer more than 800 indoor self-storage units with climate-control options and high-tech security features at affordable price points. More services will soon be available on the 1.2-acre lot, including towing equipment, U-Box® portable storage containers and U-Haul Remote 24/7® access for self-storage customers.
The Willis Day building was built in 1923 and has been vacant for six-plus years. It is located in the Warehouse District, just a block from Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens.

Hall expects to employ eight or more Team Members when the store is fully operational. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth in the Toledo community.
