A Home On Campus
USC encourages all applicants to apply early for housing, as letters of admission and housing applications are passed out in late January every year. As a freshman, you are guaranteed housing if your application makes it in by May 1. You’re assigned a room by mid-May. Make sure you’re keeping tabs on all deadline dates to ensure a room. Whatever you pick, Tommy Trojan will be your neighbor on campus!
- Freshman housing: 7 residential halls, 3 suites & 2 apartment complexes

- Graduate housing: 11 apartment complexes
Moving Day
The USC campus is large, so you’ll be joining thousands of other students as they move onto campus on August 21. If you want an insider’s look as to what USC Check out this video! To ensure moving day goes smoothly, make sure you’ve made a reservation for a moving truck well in advanced. There are many U-Haul locations around campus and around the LA area to pick equipment up from. Just make sure you’ve got a plan on moving in, including having family and friends help you pack, load, drive, park and unload the van.
How To Move In LA
LA is known for its traffic, especially when it comes to downtown. Because USC is located just minutes away from Downtown LA, you’ll have to take that into account when planning your move, especially around the large USC campus. A better way of avoiding the crowds of the city is by packing up your belongings back at home and having them delivered straight to your dorm room by Collegeboxes. They’ll send a carrier to pick up your boxes at home where they’ll store them until they deliver them to your school by the time you move in!
